Genoa is a part of the Metro Valley area of West Virginia known for its glassware and natural beauty. It is located in Wayne County. As a small hamlet, it is dependent on the neighboring towns of Prichard, Ceredo, and Kenova. Major attractions include Cabwaylingo State Forest and the Wayne County Fair. Each year in the Summer season there is plenty of opportunity for hiking, camping, fishing, and swimming. Among the biggest companies in Genoa are Brown Food Service Inc, and Three Rivers Medical Center. Genoa is served by the Wayne County News newspaper. The biggest schools here are Genoa Elementary, Louisa Middle School, and Wayne County High School. One of the best places to visit when you are in Genoa is the Wayne County Public Library.
