About Seymour, WI
Seymour (population 3,335 at the 2000 census),is a city in Outgamie County. It was founded in 1868 and named after Governor Horatio Seymour of the state of New York. It is said to have once been named Squeedunk, meaning "little settlement". Seymour is located approximately 95 miles East of Minneapolis MN, along I-94. Two of the prominent businesses in Seymour are TLB Wood Products Corp. and Fronek Group Some of the schools in the area are Rock Ledge Elementary, Seymour Middle School, and Seymour Community High School. Seymour is home of the Hamburger Hall of Fame, a must see while visiting. There is also an annual one day Burger Fest, where in 1989 a 5,520 pound hamburger was served, the world's largest. The Seymour Speedway is located at the Outagamie County Fairground. It is a 1/3 mile clay racetrack, holding races every Sunday night during the summer.
