Entered the store at 8:00pm - asked a sales person if it was true that as my daughter had given birth to twins and as she was currently registered in their baby registry and as I was buying for her - I would receive 50% off on a second of any item I purchased this evening - she assured me I was correct. I then asked another clerk the same question to verify a few minutes later - she also confirmed that I was correct. I then spent over an hour shopping - had over $500.00 worth of merchandise in my cart when I approached the registers. I mentioned to the cashier that I was told I would get 50% off the second of the same item, she said she was unaware of the policy but would ask - she did ask and was told by another cashier that it was true - she rang me up but was unable to apply the discount - she called Steve the manager over - he said "you apply the discount this way", pushed a few buttons on the register and left. The new total was not consistent with the promised discount, I asked the cashier (Tiffany) to re-ring everything she did but was again unable to apply the discount. She called Steve back over, he punched the buttons again (slightly slower this time) and then left again - and again the total was wrong. I asked Tiffany to just ring the two largest items (Pack N Play playpens - $149.00 each) they came up at $134. each) I asked if Steve could come back he did and very rudely said - you do not get 50% off the second item or 25% off each of two items - I don't know where you heard that from - you get 10% off the second item" (or words very similar to that) I mentioned that I had asked now four different staff personnel and they had all confirmed my understanding - he had no reply. I simply left the store without purchasing anything. I did stop to ask a customer service person if they had customer comment cards she said they did not (I said that I could easily understand why) - I went to WalMart and purchased a very similar model for $129.00. ...read more
