About North Prairie, WI
North Prairie is a village in Waukesha County, Wisconsin with a population of 1,571 according to the 2000 census. Three prospectors from Mukwonago named the village in 1826. A must see and wonderful attraction of North Prairie is the Veterans Park contains a garden area with historic stone houses. It also has pavilions, tennis court, a children's play area and more. If parks are your thing you must visit the Village Park as well. It has a play area for the children, a softball diamond and a soccer field. The villiage is schooled by 2 differnent areas; the Kettle Moraine School District and the Mukwonago School District. There are several notable people from North Prairie. Katie Crabb, Winner of Cheverlet's 2007 Super Bowl advertising contest, Arthur Oliver Smith, industrial magnate and founder of the A.O. Smith Corporation, John W. Hein, industrial engineer at UPS, head coach of Mukwonago Jets (1986) and Gorman Thomas, former MLB player are all natives of teh area.
