Harry the auctioneer is a con artist up bidding on every item. He will go so fast that you won't realize that no one else is bidding against you he's just acting like some else is bidding. Beware of this con artist cause he's been doing it for years. Not only that but when you say Sold that means the item is Sold, well not in his book. The childlike mentality of the senior management team is absolutely shocking. If you are liked, you will become a member of the firm’s inner circle and nothing you do will ever be framed in a negative light. If you are not liked, your accomplishments are minimized and seen as a threat to senior management, and will lead to your untimely exit. The struggles within the organization can mainly be attributed to three individuals, referred to as the Unholy Trinity. Quagmire, running U.S. operations, clearlly has no idea of how to run a professional services firm, and the performance of the firm under his watch makes that quite clear. His vindictive nature has led to the untimely demise of several long-time and highly-valued employees. The Bipolar One, the national director of the firm's financial valuation practice, is more feared than respected due to her evident mental instability and loves to destroy those that oppose her. Don't be fooled by the crocodile tears on execution day; your demise has been planned and eagerly anticipated by the Bipolar One for some time. Judas, the national director of the sales function, has recently come into favor as a member of the inner circle. However, given his willingness to stab those around him in the back to further his own interests, he has proven himself to be nothing more than an oversized coward. This is an organization which takes employment at will to an entirely new level. Longtime loyal employees need to watch their backs after achieving a certain level of experience and salary. The Grim Reaper has frequently visited the offices of these employees in the interest of saving costs, while failing to recognize the value of these consultants to providing a superior level of client service. The number of people shown the door over the past 12 months is absolutely shocking! Some people in senior management, despite their crocodile tears, clearly enjoy carrying out the executions. Such a toxic environment is the logical end result when accountants are permitted to run a professional services firm. Using the firm's characteristic penny wise, pound foolish mentality, senior management grants very few employees unemployment benefits in connection with their separation, in order to save costs necessary to maintain their lavish lifestyles. Disagree with management? Rather than use criticism as an opportunity to initiate a healthy level of discussion, senior management’s approach is to terminate the person attempting to facilitate change for some contrived reason to eliminate dissent. A firm attempted to acquire American Appraisal about ten years ago. When the acquirer advised senior management their positions would be eliminated, the negotiations suddenly stopped. Instead of positioning itself for the future under a superior brand, the firm finds itself currently in a position of vulnerability with closed minded people running the organization. Absolutely horrendous service. Very disrespectful to customers. Owner yelling and insulting. Associates cheat in counting money. Obviously, you go there to buy used stuff, but be ready to be treated quite badly and always count money before you leave. ...read more
