The Dance Center 129 East Alder Suite B Walla Walla, WA 99362 509-525-0815 with Idalee Hutson-Fish International award winning ballet choreographer and teacher IDALEE HUTSON-FISH: DIRECTOR     Idalee began her dance training at the age of 12 in Boise, Idaho after being inspired by a performance of The Green Table by the Joffrey Ballet.  Two years later, she received a scholarship for the Joffrey Ballet summer ballet course in Tacoma, Washington.  Idalee danced two summers  with the Joffrey Ballet, then went on to San Francisco Ballet School, Ballet West at Aspen and four summers with Summer Dance Lab. To pursue her ballet career, Idalee graduated high school at age sixteen then attended one year at the University of Utah and one year at The Juilliard School.  She left her formal education behind as she became an apprentice to First Chamber Dance Company.  In 1976, Idalee was brought to Walla Walla by Charles Bennett, director of First Chamber Dance Co., to be dance captain and lead dancer in Trails West, the first summer outdoor musical at the Fort Walla Walla amphitheater.  The following summer she re-staged Bennett's choreography of Trails West and once again spent her summer at the amphitheater.  In 1979, Idalee began teaching ballet at Whitman College.  She moved to Arizona from 1981 -1983, where she was a soloist with the Arizona Metropolitan Ballet.  In 1984 she moved back to Walla Walla to teach at Whitman College and also opened her private dance studio, The Dance Center.  For the last 22 years, Idalee has continued to teach for Whitman College and The Dance Center.  In 2001, she began teaching at the Umbra Institute, an American study abroad school in Perugia, Italy.     T The Dance Center 129 East Alder   Suite B Walla Walla, WA 99362 525-0815  hutsoni@whitman.edu Ballet Classes with Idalee Hutson-Fish   ...read more
