My name is Kristin Medica, I live in Hillsboro Oregon. I am writing a positive review for PDX Homecare for their amazing customer service and excellent craftsmanship on my home. They completed interior painting of my home, replacement of trim, installed three windows, put down hardwood flooring on my ground floor, renovated my children's playroom, repaired all the walls and matched the texture, replaced light fixtures and faucets throughout the house, re-enameled my kitchen sink, replaced my garbage disposal and dishwasher, put a new roof on my single level garage, completely landscaped our front yard and hauled away all the debris, trimmed the trees and built us a new fence. We had them tile our whole bathroom and shower and it looks amazing. We had them do a few other things as well. A, PDX HOME CARE handyman arrived on time, in uniform and greeted me. This business should be avoided at all costs! They have no customer service skills and their mechanical skills are extremely limited. Their idea of repair or maintenance work is to replace everything that they can disassemble. A favorite trick is to get you to bring your machine (lawnmower, chainsaw leaf blower, etc.) in for an examination and diagnosis and then hold it hostage until you agree to have them repair it or pay for the diagnosis. In all my years I have never come across a company like this. The owner is so rude and has no business ethics. We dropped off power equiptment almost two months ago and have called numerous times to check on it and they keep saying it isn't ready. Personally went in to check on unit and they couldn't find it and when they did they were just starting to figure out what was wrong with it. Each time I have been in there people have either been complaing over the phone with them or in person complaining. I wish I could figure out some way of stopping that business from ripping everyone off. Well when I read Ryker's comments I felt like it was my husband writing the review as we had the same results just recently. However we did finally get our mower back after 6 weeks...and fixed at that, but at double the price we were quoted. Same circumstances, confrontations...the owner actually walked away from me when I was talking to him...I was just telling him the black mold that is growing in his lobby/check out area is unsafe for him and his employee's. Said he bought it that way......so you not gonna fix it? Everytime we went in to pick it up we got the run around.........price was higher than quoted......never returned calls like they said they would. On March 30, 2010 we took our mower into A Plus Power Equipment in the 5 corners area in Vancouver,and were told that it would take 2 weeks to fix. Two weeks later I called and was told that our mower hadn't been touched but it was next in line. I called three days later and was told that the mower hadn't been fixed because they were working on chainsaws. After 3 weeks I called again and was told they were very busy and would try to get to the mower. Three and a half weeks had now passed and I called again. I asked to speak to the owner, Jerry Woll, and I ask him if the mower was ready. He checked and said that they hadn't touched it and when I asked why he said he didn't know. He asked me if my mower was a Honda mower or just a mower with a Honda engine. I thought that odd because they had marked the mower and given us a claim slip. I asked why their business was so unorganized and unreliable. At that point Jerry Woll, the owner, said G_d dammit and said he was looking for the mower. I told him my wife was coming down to pick up the mower and told Jerry I wanted him to find it and then to call me with an explanation for the unprofessional debacle. He never called. When my wife went to pick up the mower he was AWOL, and she was told they had decided not to work on our mower. So after three and one half weeks we still have a broken mower. Don't go here, find another source unless you like waiting and repeatedly receiving different answers as to why your mower isn't being fixed and then have the owner cuss because of his incompetence. I have Used A plus power Equipment for over 3 years now I am a commercial landscaper , They have satisfied me everytime the price has been fair and the work was always done when stated it would be unless waiting on a part , Jerry has been very fair and seems to go out of his way to make his customers happy , I have used other shops and the labor rate is always much higher and the turn around time 3 times as long , I use my equipment and when it breaks I need it repaired fast Jerry at A Plus has never Let me down , I read the other comment on this page and find it very hard to believe Jerry has always been honest and fair ...read more
