What are you looking for?

I've been doing a lot of thinking over the last few days--evaluating what I've been doing for my business over the last few months since the surgery.... realized I've been focused only on parties and sales. That only works just so long and then it becomes oddly unsatisfying. Why? because it is purely self-serving. Tupperware isn't that kind of business--and I'm not that kind of person! So, it's time for a new focus: sharing this opportunity! What are you looking for? What do you see as the number one need for your family, or for yourself? These are questions I was struggling to answer when Tupperware as a business opportunity found me. Here's the short version of my story from my webpage: ******When I started my Tupperware career in 1983, I was a very hard working "stay at home" Mom of 4 children. Gardening meant a vegetable garden that fed us year 'round--no time for pretty flowers! My baby was just 9 months old (the only girl); I knew we needed more, but I wasnotgoing to work out of the home again!I met an outstanding Tupperware Consultant at my girlfriend's party. She said she thought I'd be a good consultant! My sons thought it would be OK, so I decided to try it...I LIKED IT!  In just a few months (4, actually), I was providing more for my family in less time and with less work than with anything else I'd ever tried!I also had earned enough to pay for us to visit family that Christmas!  A lot has happened in my life and the lives of my children in those years [28 1/2 now], but through it all, I was able to continue my career without worry. ... The best part (in my opinion) is the friends I have made! Even my children made friends!  Tupperware has been the Perfect Fit for me. It may be the Perfect Fit for you, too! What have you got to loose? ****** Does something in my story connect with you? Even if my story doesn't match yours, I hope it gives you an idea of how Tupperware as your home-based business could be of benefit to your finanacial situation, offer you a fulfilment you've been desiring, or just be an outlet for some fun! I love to share information about Tupperware as a business and how it may be of benefit to your situation! You can call me anytime to ask questions, email me, or come to our monthly Guest Event! All non-threatening, non-pushing; designed to give you answers and let you make up your own mind. I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon! HEART HEALTHY SAVINGS AND RECIPES!

February is Heart Health Month. Yes, I know I’ve paraphrased, but I like putting the focus on the positive rather than the negative: health, something we all want and are at least willing work toward; versus disease, an ethereal term that excites fear and visions of death that we want to run from.   I’ve found that if I take things one step at a time, on my own schedule, I am more likely to accomplish my goal. I’ve seen this same trait throughout my life in my friends, my Tupperware customers, and many other people I’ve met along the way. I’ve learned to present information in a non-frightening and non-overwhelming way so that the project, or goal at hand is more likely to be at least started. One of the many reasons I enjoy being associated with Tupperware is that they also present information from a positive viewpoint. You will see that in this month’s sales promotions—eating healthier can be easy and economical. Check out these Great Offers, and a really good, heart healthy 30 minute meal recipe for the Tupperwave Stack Cooking System. (Can you imagine preparing a meal for four and sitting down to eat it, together, in less than an hour?)   Top Layer: Cranberry Spiced Pears 2/3 cup cranberry juice cocktail 2 Tb grenadine syrup (optional) 1 x 2 in. piece stick cinnamon, broken 4 small pear peeled, halved and cored, or 16 oz can pear halves, drained Combine cranberry juice cocktail, grenadine syrup, and cinnamon. Place pears, cut side down, in sauce. Spoon sauce over each pear.   Middle Layer: Turkey Loaves 1 beaten egg 1 cup soft bread crumbs (1 slice) ½ cup chopped green pepper ¼ cup milk 1 tsp. poultry seasoning or sage ¼ tsp. garlic salt 1 lb. ground raw turkey ¼ cup bottled BBQ sauce Combine egg, bread crumbs, onion, green pepper, milk, poultry seasoning, and garlic salt; add turkey and mix well. Shape mixture into 4 loaves. Arrange loaves around edge of the casserole   Bottom Layer: Curly Pasta with Spicy Red Sauce 4 oz spiral pasta (1-1/2 cups) 1 x 7-1/2 oz can tomatoes, cut up ¾ cup chicken broth 1 clove garlic, minced 1 Tb dried parsley flakes ½ tsp. dried basil, crushed 1/8 tsp pepper and a dash of crushed red pepper Combine all ingredients   Stack all three casserole containers and place into the microwave. Cook uncovered on 100% power (high) for 25 to 30 minutes Stir pasta before serving and spoon sauce over the pears one more time. Serves 4                   Remember, my Merchant Circle Neighbors receive a special discount!Your Tupperlady, RosalieJ mytupperlady@my.tupperware.com www.my.tupperware.com/mytupperlady Please share this with everyone you know. ...read more

Looking backward/Looking forward & New Year’s Traditions

December isn’t over! Great December Tupperware Offers are still available online! http://order.tupperware.com/pls/htprod_www/!tw$shop.p_category?pv_ic_code=10100   Looking backward/Looking forward&New Year’s Traditions   2011 has been a year of great change for most of us, hasn’t it? Some of those changes were not so good, but some of them were awesome! The changes for me were certainly awesome!   Looking forward to 2012, I’m full of hope and am looking forward to unwrapping the gift of each day and finding out what it holds in store for me! 2012 holds great promise for all of us!   Do you have a New Year’s Day tradition? My family tradition was simple; we sat on the couch and watched the Rose Parade on TV. When I became involved with my soon to be husband’s family, I discovered a tradition that I found to be very comforting: bean soup with corn bread, all made from scratch. The beans would be simmering on the back burner of the stove the whole week after Christmas, filling the house with the most wondrous aroma and warmth.   The really interesting thing about traditions is why we do them and how they got started. The bean soup on New Year’s Day started for many families who lived through The Great Depression as a talisman to ensure there would always be enough to eat through the next year. Now, in this year that saw the loss of Grandpa McKinney, I and my children are finding comfort in carrying on an age-old family tradition.   Here’s the recipe for this delicious soup—Crockpot version—I wanted it to be easy for you first-timers! (I’m available to answer any questions!J)    Bean soup with ham, cooked in the slow cooker. Cook Time:10 hours Total Time: 10 hours   Ingredients: 1 meaty ham bone 2 cups Navy beans or mixed beans, washed, sorted, and soaked overnight 8 c. water 1 clove garlic, minced (or 1/2 tsp. garlic powder) 1 bay leaf 1 lg. onion, chopped 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1 tbsp. honey Salt & pepper, to taste   Preparation: Wash beans. Combine beans, ham bone, water, garlic, bay leaf, and onion in slow cooker. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 hour. Turn to LOW and cook 8 to 10 hours longer, until beans are tender. Season with lemon juice, honey, salt, and pepper, to taste. Remove ham bone; chop meat and return to crockpot. (3 c. of water may be re-added after the bone is taken out. If so, then cook some more.) Remove bay leaf before serving    What about the corn bread? Easy! Buy it ready made at your favorite grocer or bread store!;-)   Keep enjoying the season! As the song says, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”   Your Tupperlady, RosalieJ mytupperlady@my.tupperware.com www.my.tupperware.com/mytupperlady Please share this with everyone you know.   ...read more

This is it! Only a few days to go!

This is it! Only a few days to go!I thought I might not have anything to write about this week, but a funny thing happens when you sit down in front of a blank page—inspiration! We only have a few days to go! Are you ready? I’m certainly not! I collect gifts all year, put them in a corner of my “all purpose” room—and promptly forget them! I’ve been trying to get in there and take inventory for the last few weeks. I finally made it last night! What a relief to know that I have something for almost everybody! The rest will be easy to take care of with a mix recipe or two. Some of you may be aware that I’ve not been well for a long time, have had surgery to fix what was wrong, and am now recovering. Because of that, I’ve done very little with my Tupperware business, then didn’t work at all, so money is very tight right now. One of the reasons I’ve been sharing mix recipes is because they are what I can do right now to make a little gift that says I care to the people I love. Thanks to my Tupperware business, I have enough containers to be able to buy in bulk, so I have most of the ingredients needed to make the yummy mixes I’ve been sharing with you. I really enjoy giving gifts and look forward to it all year. I can’t tell you how good I felt when I got into that room and was able to see that I did have gifts to give and that I had a collection of containers for mixes—I’d forgotten that, too! For my final contribution of the season, I’ve picked a pair of recipes that I think go together perfectly—especially at this time of the year! Doesn’t a cup of hot chocolate and a cookie or two sound like the perfect treat to enjoy Christmas night when everything is all wound down, the kids are in bed, and you get to take time to reflect on the day?   Hot Chocolate Mix1 1b of Nestle Quick (or similar product)25.6 oz powdered Milk (8 Qt. size box)6 oz of coffee Mate (or other powdered cream2 c powder sugar Stores in a Modular Mate Rectangle 2 or Square 3   Use 1/3-1/2 cup of mix to 8 oz boiling water.Chocolate Chip Cookies MixContainer Ingredients:• 2 cups flour• 1 tsp salt• 1 tsp baking soda• 3/4 cup brown sugar• 3/4 cup white sugar• * chocolate chipsFilling the Container:Layer the ingredients in a Tupperware container in the order listed. Imagine YOUR future

Thought I'd share someone else's thoughts along with another mix recipe..... Imagine YOUR future You do not know for sure what will happen in the next hour, the next day, the next week or year. Yet you can imagine, and when you do, it pays to imagine the very best. No, your imagination by itself does not make it so. But it can certainly line up many factors in your favor. The more you imagine your most desired and treasured scenario, the more clearly you can visualize the actual details. And the details are important, for they provide specific goals upon which you can focus. When you can clearly see yourself being there, you can see much more clearly how to get there. You can imagine the path to your dreams, then start to actually walk it. Imagining a bright and shining future can serve to draw you toward such a state. So fill that imagined future with whatever you treasure most. Play an active role in your own future. Imagine with passion and detail how you’d most like it to be. — Ralph MarstonPeriodically, I re-examine where I'm going with my life and my business.  Right now, I'd like to invite you to do the same and then consider how the benefits of a Tupperware career, or membership could benefit you.  I've counseled many people over my 28 years as a Consultant and Manager.  Many of them decided to try Tupperware.  Many of them decided to try something else.  The important point is that they triedSomething!Give me a call to find out how you could start up free, or on our special payment plan--both are being offered for a limited time! Here's another mix gift idea:Cookie Mix (Yum!)Chocolate Chip CookiesContainer Ingredients:• 2 cups flour• 1 tsp salt• 1 tsp baking soda• 3/4 cup brown sugar• 3/4 cup white sugar• * chocolate chipsFilling the Container:In the order listed, layer the ingredients in a Tupperware Container (your consultant can help you pick the right one), or a quart size canning jar. Quick'n Easy Pie Crust

We all think about homemade pies for Thanksgiving, but who has the time? Well, here’s a recipe for pie crust that will cut your pie making time in half! It’s from Tupperware, of course and if you’ve got our Pastry Sheet and our Rolling Pin, it goes even faster!   Here’s the recipe:   TUPPERWARE PIE CRUSTRead more about it at www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,171,146166-248192,00.htmlContent Copyright © 2011 Cooks.com - All rights reserved.2 c. flour1/2 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. baking powder6 tbsp. cold water3/4 c. shortening2 tbsp. butterPut in large Tupperware bowl, seal and burp. Shake until it forms a ball. Remove from container and roll.    Helpful hint: make it up the night before and refrigerate. Pie dough is very sensitive and needs to be very cold and handled as little as possible.   Yummy suggestion: what to do with the left over strips of pie crust? Some people are very creative about using them to decorate the top crust. My mom always sprinkled them with cinnamon sugar and would bake them on a sheet next to the pies! YUM! (and always reminds me of happy times!)   HAPPY PIE EATING and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!   Please share this with everyone you know.   ...read more

Give Gifts That Last A Lifetime

I heard on the news the other day that only 1 in 3 of us remember what we got for Christmas last year. There are a lot of reasons for that--one of the biggest being the stress of our so-called "Modern Lives". Really, though, the underlying root cause is that our brains are just designed to work that way. What can we do about it? Well, guess what? Your Tupperlady has a solution!  Tupperware, of course! ;-) Tupperware's holiday theme has always been "Give a gift that will last a lifetime." Being made of a product that is guaranteed to last a lifetime helps, but really the gift that lasts--and that we will always remember, is one from the heart that touches the heart of the person to whom it's given. When I was a little girl, we barely had enough money to get by each month, but we always had gifts under the tree and gifts to share with our loved ones. My mom taught me how to make all kinds of things by hand: handkerchiefs from cut squares of linen, doll cradles from oatmeal boxes, hat boxes from Baskin Robbins ice cream tubs. We sewed, knitted, crotched, and worked on craft projects the whole year round--we didn't have i-phones to occupy our fingers! I share these ideas at my parties, workshops, and classes. I've updated the suggestions to fit the times, but the idea is the same: keep it simple and from the heart and something that will always make the person you gave it to think of you and smile. The simplest gift suggestion is to make a mix of the dry ingredients for something yummy and loved (my favorite is brownies!) and package it in a decorative container along with the recipe for making the dish. This is something you make one big batch of and then divide into portions to serve the number of people you're giving it to.  Now, here's that brownie mix recipe--what else would I share?? >>>  Brownie Mix Mix the ingredients, place them into a Modular Mate container. Add a bow and a recipe card for a beautiful gift! Add nuts at the end, if you desire. 2 1/4 cups white sugar2/3 cup cocoa1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour1 teaspoon baking powder1 teaspoon salt Attach the recipe tag:Brownies3/4 cup butter, softened 4 eggs, slightly beaten Large bowl.Pour the ingredients into a large bowl.Add the butter and eggs, mixing until thoroughly blended.Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch pan.Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30-35 minutes.Cool, cut into squares.Be sure to check out my Merchant Circle coupons and promotions and my website:www.my.tupperware.com/mytupperlady to see all the whole Tupperware line and our current catalogs and sales brochures! ...read more
