Due to an error OB the part of my former mortgage company, I found out the other day that my homeowners insurance had been cancelled over a year ago. Late on a Friday afternoon of a 3 day weekend, my former insurance company couldn't help me. Panicked, I called Allstate and was helped by Rich and Debbie Cerenzia. They were patient, calming and helpful. In no time, they had written up a new policy and I had an appointment to switch my auto insurance as well. All this over the phone, and I saved money! It seems that lately we have been approached by a number of clients who have seen large increases in the cost of dependent health insurance thru their employer sponsored health insurance plan. These employer plans have low deductibles and are rich with up-front benefits which significantly increase the cost of these plans. Are you paying for benefits that your family will never use? A healthy individual may only use one or two doctor visits a year, but their group plan provides for ten, and most men with group insurance don't realize that they are paying extra for maternity benefits that they will never use!
