Trying to clear out entire inventory on amazon store for "revamping."

Hello one and all.   I've decided to start all over with the amazon.  Can't decide if I want to continue with them, or just throw up my own site.  Either which way, it's necessary to liquidate, take a breather and then start with a better perspective if you will.  I've an assortment of spiritual books, adventure, horror, and some pretty amazing titles sent from independent presses.  Any and all help sending out the message would be appreciated. thank you, Brent Stambaugh Pandora's Booxstore, Spokane, Wa. www.amazon.com/shops/pandorasbooxstore ...read more

from kafka to douglas adams to neil gaiman

It's funny how one can get so encumbered by a writing program and have there brain wired to read only dense literature, then finally after the cojoling of many friends and colleagues get thrusted into whole new realms of literature.  In the last few years, above and beyond the hype of folks like Palaniuk, I've been exposed to alot of genres I was never aware of....  Things like "steampunk."  Just what does this genre entail?   I could go into the minutiae of it all, but think kafka for the  modern age....    Phantasmagoric in nature.  Labyrinthine.  Brilliant stuff.  Kind of like in the vein of Neil Gaiman's works, though not so rigorous on the horror angle, this  steampunk genre doesn't make reference to alot of pop culture in the last decade or so.  It's a lovely escape for the those who enjoy the likes of writers like Warren Ellis only with a little more refinement.   If I were to recommend any authors of "steampunk" my first choice would be China Mieville's "Perdido Street."   If I were to give it a comparison to a movie reference, it would probably be "What dreams may come."  (You  know the one with Robin Williams)  Only far more fantastical and sorry for the buzzword, cerebral and brilliant.  A frickin' fantastic piece of work.  I'm praying to the gods of literature that in the next two weeks I can gather more of this gentleman's works to sell en masse just so more Americans can have access to him, along with other authors who write in this vein.  ...read more
