thanks to the guys at PAD. I couldn't believe my eyes today. Some derelicts to society stole my car last week and trashed the inside pretty badly. Justin and Matthew were fantastic, they delt with me and the insurance people(and everyone knows thats never easy) and got me going in my car in less than 3 business days. They definately made me feel whole again and my little "Bugsy".I can't believe I have never had my car detailed before just for no reason except that it's a treat for you and your car. By the way my car is a 1993 and its sparkling. Treat yourself,They are amazing at what they do. ...read more

Auto Detailing DIY tip #2 Interior Detailing

Interior detailing can be extremely time consuming, here are some tips to speed it up. bring a plastic bag or box out to help get everything out. (most of us practically live out of our cars today) With kids, pets and various other activities it's no wonder our cars sometimes become dumping grounds. Once everything is out, I like to start at the drivers seat then work my way around the car counter clockwise. Leather and vinyl cleaning: we use a diluted all purpose cleaner to pre clean the leather and or vinyl. Dilution depends on how dirty things are. Next we pre treat carpet, floor mats and seats if cloth using the same or stronger all purpose cleaner. Shampoo pre treated cloth and carpet using a hot water extractor. (you may also just spot treat light stained areas with cleaner and cotton towels if no extractor available) Next condition all leather and vinyl using non glycerin based Leather/ Vinyl conditioner. (some ar emore or less shiny find one that suits you) Ours is a low gloss type non greasy, prevents reflection problems for those sunny days, and does not build up dirt. Clean windows and door jambs last. It's Done! Be sure to allow for drying if things where shampooed. Windows down at least a couple inches or all the way if possible. This will prevent fogging of glass. If odors exist consider using an O-Zone machine they are very effective in removing stubborn odors, such as pet smells, cigarrette or cigar smoke, vomit, mildew etc. ...read more

Seattle Car detailing DIY tip 1 exterior detailing

For those who prefer detailing their own cars, I respect that. Here are some helpful tips. Car washing, use only a car wash soap (No Dish Soap) there is a difference, trust me. Once your car is washed and rinsed be sure to dry with a chamois or cotton towels. Dry everything (to avoid hard water spots) If your planning to wax, consider using a Clay Bar to prep the paint. You will be glad you did. As clay bar surface preperation will greatly enhance your cars finish, and make your waxing look better and last longer. Start on the top flat surfaces and work all the way around and down untill all paint has been gone over. Now whether your waxing by hand or using any type of buffer an important point to remember is when you start, apply wax sparingly and start in a big open area (like the hood, roof or trunk) start in the middle away from edges or emblems. This will give you a chance to work the wax into the paint and your buffing medium, rather than the edges of your car. As the wax begins to thin out then you can get the edges without worrying about leaving a mass of wax... Continue doing the same process around the entire car. Once you have applied the wax to the paint and any chrome, now it's time to buff it off. Again depending on how it was applied (We generally use A Porter Cable orbital buffer to apply with a foam pad then hand remove using cotton towels and microfiber) Unless high speed polishing is required then we use a Porter Cable high Speed. Finally after removing all wax, look down the sides and across all surfaces to remove any missed wax. Clean the windows, dress the tires and rubber. It's detailed! Go take it for a ride! ...read more

How to Detail Classic Car Engines

As classic cars engines age they get dirty. The dirt comes from use as oil circulates in the engine. In old engines the oil may find a way out from a seeping seal to the outside of the engine. The oil collects all sorts of dust and debris and makes the engine look old and beat up. You can make that cl... ...read more
