Composite Seawater Gates to the Rescue

A design-build engineering firm constructing a large aluminum producing facility in the Middle East wanted to use seawater, a nearby abundant natural resource, for cooling after the smelting process. The problem was that seawater is highly corrosive, plus the harsh environment of intense sun and blowing sand. The solution was Plasti-Fab's Heavy Duty Titeseal Slide Gates with FRP Guide Frames. Plasti-Fab Industrial Shelter Stands Strong

This is a great story about a shelter that Plasti-Fab built over 25 years ago that went through hurricane Hugo. This is a current (2009) photo of the shelter -- it looks brand new! Moncks Corner, South Carolina, was almost wiped off the map back when hurricane Hugo roared through (9/22/89). It was located just a few miles on the northeast side of the storm, "which is the absolute worst place to be during a hurricane. The eye of the storm passed right through the town. When it hit South Carolina it had SUSTAINED winds of 140 MPH." Hugo is the biggest, strongest hurricane to ever hit the East coast north of Florida. "Moncks Corner wanted ONLY Plasti-Fab shelters on their recent upgrade because of the performance of the +25 year old shelter. This shelter has been through a lot and is still standing." -John Whittaker, Johnston Inc.(Suppliers of quality water and wastewater treatment equipment and instrumentation). ...read more
