Tim Hayes is morally challenged. Our bad experience with this group of yahoos was beyond comprehension and could not fit into this review. This guy has been sued out of business as A Hayes, Hayes and Ace Heating. Writing their own reviews is pretty low. Really. You don't get but one review every couple of months and then miraculously get 12 - 5 star reviews in 2 days some of which are actually from "Hayes Heating". I have had three machines serviced here. One was a serger they serviced in 2009, and I also had two different Berninas serviced this year.\t\n\t\nOn all occasions I have found them to be honest about what they could and could not do. The serger was old and the parts were no longer available. They did what they could to keep it going and warned me what would fail eventually. It bought me another 10 months with the machine, and I was happy for that because it gave me time to figure out what I would get to replace it. \t\n\t\nThe second time I went in with a thread jam in a Bernina. The tech insisted on opening up the machine right there in front of me. He quickly resolved the jam and carried the machine out to my car--refusing to be paid for this service.\t\n\t\nThe third time I took in a high-end Bernina that I have had some issues with. It is a good machine overall but seems to need above average servicing. The last time I had it into my dealer (for a simple recalibration), it took 16 days for it to be returned. When it was ailing last month, I decided to give these guys a try. They had it ready in just 5 business days. It worked perfectly when I got it home. I wasn't in a rush to get it back this time, but I got the feeling they might be able to accommodate that.\t\n\t\nThese other reviews sound terrible, but all I can say is on three separate occasions, dealing with three different sales people who did not know me, I got great treatment and service. Let me be first to say, when reading other peoples version of satisfaction I am skeptical. I as a business owner, I instill in my employees, that customer is not always right. Therefor I want to here the complaint, then I will judge if it is valid, and if not we do not need them as customer. If you think this is wrong, then I must have been doing it wrong for the last 30 plus years.\t\n\t\nMy experience with this company seems to differ from what these people are saying. I found the owner to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Not pushy, not snobbish, just down to earth, realistic and there to make a living not to be my friend. I got parts I needed for machines few others even know about. The cost was reasonable and they were "on hand". I took my Bernina in July 6. It was dead. No power, would not turn on.\t\nSMS determined it would need a circuit board and needed to ordered it. The part came in July 27. On July 30, it was determined, it was the wrong board. The tech called Bernina, and suggested another board. Another part ordered. By mid August, the part arrived. It was determined, the machined needed 2 boards. I will credit them giving me a discount on one of the board. The first return of the machine was Sept 8.\t\nHowever, when the machine was returned to me, after paying $550, the tech did not do a thorough quality check. I had an error and the thread cutter did not work. Also, the module for my stitch regulator was missing from the cover. So I sent the machine back, the next day.\t\nThe tech discovered my cover was mixed up with another Bernina, and had been sent home with another customer. They have a strict no returns policy, which benefits them especially when the staff is incompetent.\t\n\t\nI purchased a pedal for my sewing machine with the help of a salesperson. I tried for weeks to get the pedal to work, without success. When I tried to return the pedal because it didn't ever work, I was told by the salesperson that he couldn't give me anything for it because of their policy. I had Hayes Heating come out and install a new furnace and heat pump last month. The service was awesome as they were able to do it quickly and it looks incredible. Small family owned and run, good products, poor business communication that is frustrating if you have problems after the unit is installed. Ex.: problem seemed fixed, but returned at random times and days. First they vacumed the ducts at cost to me. Now they are sure it is the circuit, and want 500$ for that job. I'd like to rule out the thermastat but now when I get a hold of them the converstaions are defensive.( I have determined on my own that the furnace is on its own circuit). It is clear that I have become the problem and the issue I am having is not a priority for a return phone call. If my wiring is the problem, I will definately have it repaired, I'd like to eliminate variables and determine the problem before I spend more hundreds of dollars.Nice people, not nice doing business with them. When my Kenmore sewing machine completely locked up, my daugher's high school home ec teacher recommended this repair shop, saying that they serviced all of her classroom's sewing machines.\t\n\t\nI dropped my machine off for a diagnostic assessment, and a week later they called with bad news. So much broken thread was wrapped around the mechanisms that it would cost $200 for them to remove it all. I was told it was very extensive and would be very labor intensive. I did not authorize the repair, as my machine didn't even cost $200 when it was new. \t\n\t\nWhen I went to pick up my machine, an employee insisted on carrying it out to the car for me, and along the way he "informed" me that companies like Kenmore and Singer deliberately manufacture inferior sewing machines that are designed to wear out or break beyond repair in a short amount of time to force people to buy new machines to replace them. \t\n\t\nMonths passed and I bought a new sewing maching (not from this shop), and I decided to try to clear out all the broken thread from my old Kenmore. I put the machine on a towel, got scissors and tweezers, and removed the casing over the mechanism. I was stunned. There was not a single broken thread, and barely any lint. It was essentially clean as a whistle. However, when I put the machine on its side, a small piece of broken needle fell out. Apparently that had been the reason my sewing maching locked up. I simply replaced the casing and the machine works just fine. \t\n\t\nI've never had any company lie this blatantly to me before. I never did go back to them, as I had already purchased a new machine and I felt that too much time had passed.
