We've had nothing but issues!! We bought two of the same model for our home. Neither fireplace will light. It takes hours of effort for it to work, if at all. I use to build wood fires in a fraction of the time. They had a repair man come out MANY times the first year. Even the repair guy said the Avalon Rosario is a POS. DONT BUY from Travis Industries!!! ...read more

We purchased an Avalon Rosario fireplace insert several years ago. To date, we have not had one season of uninterrupted use of the appliance. We are usually able to use the fireplace for only a fraction of the heating season, the stove is usually off for the first portion of the winter while we wait for the repairman to visit us.\r\n\r\n \r\nThey have sent out a repairman every year to fix something on the stove. Past problems include malfunctioning burners, which had to be replaced, extremely loud "popping" when the flames ignite, which requires yearly adjustment to the fireplace elements and fibers, replacement of the ignition controls, and drips of black soot on the inside of the glass which are impossible to clean. \r\n\r\nThe most common, and most frustrating, issue has to do with the very function for which we purchased the insert. The Avalon Rosario was advertised as an advanced gas fireplace with state-of-the-art "GreenSmart" technology that would provide an efficient heating source for our home. On our model, however, the blower fan does not switch on when the stove reaches temperature. As a result we get very little heat from the stove, by any measure it can not be called "efficient". The problem has been addressed at least twice by repairmen in past years and this year is still with us.\r\n\r\nThis stove has been a great disappointment and is not a product I would expect from a company that prides itself on the quality and craftsmanship of its products. ...read more
