Tips on Safe Rain Driving

So even though the first day of Spring has come and gone and we are onto the first day of Summer, it still seems to be raining cats and dogs. Here are a few helpful tips for driving in these rainy days: Check the wiper blades: Now is the time to inspect your wiper blades and replace them if necessary. Check the headlights: Inspect both the high and low beams. Also, take a moment and check your turn signals; ensure all bulbs are working correctly. Check the tires: Put a penny in-between the tire tread... if you can see the top of Lincoln's head you need new tires. Check the brakes: You can check these to make sure they are working properly by tapping them lightly. Never slam on the brakes while driving in the rain or on wet roads. Check the weather: Tune you car radio to your local news station for the latest weather reports and updates on road closures, flash flood areas, accidents, flooded roadways and mud slides. ...read more

Legacy for a Cause Sponsorship

We are at it again. AAMCO Girls of Puget Sound are sponsoring another Legacy for a Cause team. For LFCII we are proudly sponsoring the RED Team! And not only are we supporting the men and women working toward their weight loss and fundraising goals, but our very own AAMCO Transmissions business owner, Sue Leirdahl, is participating in the contest as well. Last week was the first week of the competition and Sue lost an amazing 4.6 lbs in ONE WEEK! For those of you who don't know what LFC is all about, I will tell you. LFC is a fundraising event organized by the owners of Kieranslist.com to help raise funds for different charities not only in the local community but throughout the world. LFC is similar to The Biggest Loser, but instead of playing to win money for themselves, these contestants are raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. They hope through their weight loss efforts and fundraising goals, they will be able to make 10 children's wishes come true through the contest. If you would like to follow Sue's progress through her experience as a contestant in LFC II you can follow her on the LFC II Blog: http://www.kieranslist.com/local.cfm?redir=adv_details&coid;=409 ...read more

5 things to check when your car won't start

We have all been in the situation where we wake up at 5:00 am on a rainy, windy morning and we go out to our car and it won't start! We go in to a panic and don't know what to do. Well here are a few tips for you to do before you go and spend money getting your car towed. 5 things to check when our car won't start: 1.) Check to make sure you have the right key in the ignition. I may it may sound silly, but it can and has happened. 2.) Check to make sure your vehicle is in park before turning the key over. 3.) Check to make sure that you have enough gas to operate the vehicle. 4.) Check to make sure your battery cables have not come loose. Also, check the battery posts and make sure they are not corroded. 5.) Check the ignition switch, it may be worn out. ...read more
