What you should know about Water Sources and Water Damage

There are 3 Basic Sources of Water: Category 1 originates from a sanitary source and poses no substantial risk from dermal, ingestion, or inhalation exposure. However, it may not always remain clean after it comes into contact with other surfaces or materials. Category 2 contains significant contamination and has the potential to cause discomfort or sickness if contacted or consumed by humans. It may contain potentially unsafe levels of microorganisms or nutrients for microorganisms, as well as other organic or inorganic matter (chemical or biological). Category 3 is grossly contaminated and may contain pathogenic, toxigenic or other harmful agents. Such water sources may carry silt, organic matter, pesticides, heavy metals, regulated materials, or toxic organic substances. *Time and temperature can also affect the quality of water, thereby changing its category.* There are Four Primary Classifications of Water Damage: Class 1 is the least amount of water, absorption and evaporation. It affects only part of a room or area, or larger areas containing materials that have absorbed minimal moisture. Little or no wet carpet and/or cushion is present. Class 2 involves a large amount of water, absorption and evaporation. It affects at least an entire room of carpet and cushion (pad). Water has wicked up walls less than 24 inches. There is moisture remaining in structural materials and substructure soil. Class 3 involves the greatest amount of water, absorption and evaporation. Water may have come from overhead. Ceilings, walls, insulation, carpet, cushion and subfloor in virtually the entire area is saturated. Class 4 related to specialty drying situation. Wet materials with very low permeance/ porosity (e.g. hardwood, plaster, brick, concrete, light weight concrete and stone). Typically, there are deep pockets of saturation, which require very low specific humidity. These types of losses may require longer drying times and special methods. Get a quote!!!!

In this picture is an example of a bad mold problem.   The other day we went out to another home for a quote. After testing, our visual inspection was confirmed. NO MOLD!  Apparently the company before us told these people that they had a big mold problem. They would fix the problem for $10000.00 ! The only problem they had was a leaky dryer vent. Which was easily fixed. Everything else under the home still looked brand new. These people thought they had a mold problem and would have been ripped off by an un-ethical company. So please if you have a big job get a quote by at least 2 to 3 companies. Our invoice, $150.00   Call us if you have any questions. WWW.Redekleen.com  and WWW.Northwestdecon.com ...read more

Importance of Getting your Carpets Cleaned Professionly

What can you do? Well, maybe you’ll go down to the supermarket or home improvement store and rent a portable carpet machine. I guess it’s better than doing nothing, but it won’t give you the kind of deep, healthy clean a powerful, professional steam cleaning will. And unlike a professional cleaning, the rental machine will leave your carpet wet and damp for many hours. Also, by the time you figure in the rental cost, detergent cost and the time it takes you to clean it, (not to mention the back and forth to the rental center), you’ll find the small cost of professional cleaning to be very reasonable.   What should you do? Call me. It’s that simple. My company provides the kind of sanitized deep cleaning that pulls those nasty pollutants out of your carpet and upholstery, leaving clean, healthy fibers and improving the air quality of your home. We not only deep clean your carpet and free you of those unwanted pollutants, we also dry your carpet within two hours. You can have us clean this afternoon and entertain later tonight. All you have to do is call me at 425-355-7998 ...read more
