About Colfax, WA
The city of Colfax, named for Vice President Schuyler Colfax, is located on the Palouse River in Whitman County, Washington, in the Pullman metro area. Major attractions include the Codger Pole, a memorial for football players in Colfax; Perkins House, a restored Victorian home built in 1886 and the Colfax Trail. Each year, the Palouse Empire Fair (Sept.), the Concrete River Days (July) and the Autumn Harvest Hullabaloo (Oct.) are celebrated here. One of the best places to visit when you are in Colfax is nearby, 150-acre Steptoe Butte State Park, with picnicking, wildlife and scenic viewing and nature programs.
