As a former ballet student in my youth, I was eager for my daughter to find a good, solid, classically trained ballet program that was fun and close to home for my "tween" aged daughter. We have taken dance classes around the area, but Ms. Partridge has a level of training, teaching skills and produces a high quality lesson. We are very happy with the instruction and the cost is extremely reasonable, along with the variety of classes offered. I can highly recommend this program. ...read more

CDA Newsletter August 2012 ALMOST TIME TO DANCE! We are gearing up for our best year of dance at CDA yet!Our school year begins Wednesday, September 5th.Please read this newsletter for important information regarding your student’s upcoming classes. NORTHWEST DANCE INTENSIVE We have been working hard this summer to offer your student the best dance education available. Miss Terah and Miss Sarah spent a week at the Northwest Dance Intensive in , studying the latest dance training techniques, which we are excited to pass along to our CDA students. NEW TEACHERS, NEW CLASSES We had such a tremendous response to our Broadway class during summer camp that we've added it to our schedule. Natasha Benett, recognized as one of the top eight High School Theater choreographers in the state, will be teaching. Your kids will LOVE these classes, which will be Friday afternoons at 4pm and 5pm. We've also added an Adult Scottish Highland (Fridays at 6pm) and Scottish Highland I (Fridays at 5pm). Registration is open now! DRESS CODE We are planning on more strictly enforcing our dress code this year. ORGANIZATIONAL UPDATES We have decided to appoint an official Board of Directors in an effort to keep the running as smoothly as possible. The appointments are as follows: Creative Director: Terah Partridge Business Development/Marketing: Jared Partridge Business Manager: Lynne Midyette Assistant Creative Director: Sarah Cooper Parent Representative: Tamara Krantz We hope that this helps to clarify areas of responsibility, and will make it easier for each of you; if you have questions, you can now speak directly with the person in charge of each department. 2012-2013 CALENDAR A tentative school year calendar is now available. Please note that these dates are subject to change, and the recital date is still to be determined. We will announce the date as soon as the high school lets us finalize our rental contract. Did you know CDA has a Facebook page? In addition, we have a private group page only for CDA families.This is a great place to post questions or communicate with other parents. To join the CDA Families group, send a friend request to Terah Brudvik Partridge, and indicate you’d like to join. You can then be added to the group. Currently, we have over 70 families participating! SUMMER We had so much fun at CDA’s Summer Camp! The students were treated to classes in Acro, Scottish Highland, Broadway, Floor Barre, and Leaps&Turns. We wrapped up the week by putting on a little performance for the parents, which included a Broadway routine performed by the younger girls to "It's a Hard Knock Life," and a routine to "Footloose" by the older students. It was amazing to see how much they learned in such a short amount of time. Now all the girls want to be Broadway stars! REMINDERS TO PARENTS Parents, when classes are in session, please refrain from visiting in the studio classrooms. It is vital that our students are not distracted while in class. Please remain in designated parent areas (waiting room, office, deck, etc.) while classes are being held. We have many new parents and students joining us this year, so please introduce yourself and help them feel welcome. We still have room insomeof our classes, so please spread the word! We’d love to have your friends dance with us. Please remember to use extreme caution when driving in, out, and through the parking lot at CDA, as children are always present.
