Paws-A-Moment

Constanhce from Paws-A-Moment is sweet when you meet her, the location was perfectly located in the middle of a residential area and seemed to be a great place to take our dog. We have a 2 year old lab who is friendly and loves to play. She had a wonderful time at first then we started to notice scratches from rough play. We mentioned it and it was sorta written off as some just play rougher than others. We started sending our dog in a t-shirt to protect her. On one pick up recently we heard our dog yelp and she was bitten on the rump by another dog and no one saw it happen. Then last week when we came to pick her up she was bitten by another dog. She was bleeding and needed 8 stiches to repair the damage and 2 weeks of not doing anything to heal. When the pictures of the injury were shown to Constance she said that she didn't see it happen. Yet she did mention that one of the dogs get riled up and she shoudl probably figure out something to do with that dog when others are being picked up.They do not screen dogs for behaviors and what you hear most when picking up your dog is barking and them being told to be quiet. It doesn't seem like the dogs are watched enough and as everyone knows dogs can be unperdictable. So, please think before taking your dog to daycare here. They may have fun but they also may come back injured and there is nothing worse then a dog in pain. ...read more

Wings of The World

I've been a customer of Wings of the World since I was introduced to my first parrot friend about 7 years ago. The parrot and his owner are now a part of my family, and so is this store. I've since purchased two birds from them, and have boarded all three of our birds many times with them. \t\n\t\nIf you're looking for a down to earth, locally owned store that actually really loves thier birds and customers, this is the place for you. Great place to visit if you're considering adding a bird to your family. No pressure or rush - they encourage you to understand your pet and prepare your home for what will be a long term addition (many of these birds will be with you long aftter the kids leave!). Many customers come in with thier birds for trimming and socializing, so you also can often get the fun and benfits of talking to fellow bird lovers. \t\n\t\nI almost hate to come home from vacations, because I swear my birds like to hang out there almost better than at home. Truly a great place for people and pets alike. \t\n\t\nThis little store is truly one of Seattle's treasures - check them out some Saturday morning - it's a happening place! ...read more

Tail's-A-Waggin Dog & Cat Inn

I started taking my dog to this kennel 10 years ago when she was a baby. Everything seemed fine, the food she was fed was of a decent quality and she always came back home nothing more than tired. I got a second dog and stayed with the kennel since they could stay together and I got a discount for the two.\t\n\t\nAfter some time, the food quality dropped and I felt like the place wasn't kept up as well. Customer service was ridiculous, but I guess I could deal if I was just leaving them for a day or two here and there.\t\n\t\nThen... \t\n\t\nI picked my dogs up after a weekend and my eldest one was acting funny. Her belly was sore and she got snappy if you tried to touch her, but there were no marks. I figured she had accidentally hurt herself. She got better quickly.\t\n\t\nThe next time I took them back, same thing. She came back in even more pain, but this time there were very evident bruises all over her stomach. I called the kennel and, without being at all confrontational, reported the problem. I expected a little concern and a "we'll look into it". Instead, I was bombarded with outrage that I could even assume someone who worked there would injure my dogs. I told them again I wasn't making accusations and that I was just reporting the problem. More attitude...\t\n\t\nNeedless to say, we don't go there anymore and I haven't kenneled my dogs in over 2 years. It's like choosing a babysitter for your kid: If you feel at all weird about anything, move on. ...read more
