Lakemont Academy

Lakemont Academy has been an amazing, STABLE environment for my daughter. They are accredited nationally and place a huge emphasis on learning their curriculum. The teachers are fantastic! Very loving environment, and communicates well with parents. I had heard there was a director change about a year or so ago that shook up the school a bit, but they have seem to come out stronger because of it. Kudos. ...read more

Sundance Preschool & Daycare

So, we sent our kiddo to this daycare and had high hopes when we started. We had high hopes when we saw the first bad signs. We held on to hope when we saw more bad signs. But we have finally lost all hope for these people. \t\n\t\nThe first bad signs were when we found out that they had lied about a couple of things. None of the teachers have, or are getting, child development/education degrees like we were told. That wasn't a big deal so we ignored it. They sent home a daily schedule that they never used, but we ignored that. They started getting really excessive with parenting "advice" that I know to be bad because I do have a degree in child development. We ignored it. Then I saw a teacher YELLING a kid using really condescending language. Then I saw them put a 1 year old in time out ( a BIG no-no and they claim to never use that method, so another lie) Then on 3 or 4 different occasions I heard a teacher tell a parent it was okay to bring food, even though another child was allergic. Then I saw a teacher snatch a 2 year old up by the arm when he was too slow to come after being called. \t\n\t\nThey are really good at telling you what you want to hear, but if you are going to risk it and send your children there anyway, just keep an eye out. Watch all the rooms and all the teachers, not just the ones putting on a show when they see you walk through the door. \t\n\t\nGood luck! ...read more

Eastside Christian School

I am relatively new to Eastside Christian School but I want to share what I've experienced so far. I used to drive by ECS frequently and I never realized that the school has 325 students and the campus is quite large. From my first interactions with the students, teachers, and parents, it was very apparent that ECS is focused on two important missions: teaching and nurturing children and young adults as they grow academically and as Christians. Now that I'm here, I see examples every day of our efforts to support each individual student's learning at the highest level. I also see students experiencing daily interactions that focus on their faith, their values, and their better understanding of the Bible. I'm obviously biased, but I can honestly say that this is a wonderful school, the kids here are bright, respectful, and nice, and if you're looking for a Christian based, strong academically minded program for your child, you need to give ECS a look.
