The clouds parted for a little while
At the wedding last Sunday, we provided a horse and carriage and a dove release. When we arrived at Fort Monroe, it was starting to rain. The horse chose for the day was Fancy. Fancy got a chance to visit with a few kids that had been visiting the beach, before she went to work. We harnessed up Fancy and then hitched her to a beautiful white carriage. In the back of the carriage was a heart shaped basket with 2 doves. We were hoping for a break in the weather, because we cannot release the doves in a storm. We left the trailer in search of the Bride. Things were running behind, as they often do at weddings. Fancy quietly waited for the Bride to arrive. While she was waiting, a few more kids visited from the bowling alley at Fort Monroe. The weather cleared off, just before the Bride arrived. It was a Gazebo wedding by the water. The Bride exited the carriage and walked down the aisle, with Fancy and the carriage as a back drop. They placed the heart shaped basket near the Bride and Groom. After the vows, the minister talked about the doves and the symbolic nature of the release. In short, he talked about the doves returning to ark and other references of the Bible. A young man from the bridal party opened up the basket and the 2 white doves flew out of the Gazebo and circled for awhile before returning to the farm. They did their formal pictures before departing for the reception. The storms stayed away long enough for the outdoor portion to be completed. We unhitched Fancy and loaded her back on the trailer to get some munchies for her outstanding job. The rain started shortly after we started out for our journey home. Doves won again
We provided a carriage for a wonderful wedding yesterday. The carriage was waiting for the couple to depart from the church. As they approached the carriage, a heart shaped basket was handed to them. They opened the basket and 2 white doves flew towards the sun. As the doves circled the chruch, the Bride and Groom departed in the carriage. Their guest left the site for the reception. We took the Bride and Groom for a short ride then they returned to the church for their formal pictures. When the pictures were finished, the Bride and Groom were wisked away for their grand entrance to the recepting site. All of their guest were waiting for their arrival. Bob, the horse, was happy to have a nice cool bath after his performance. Bob always seems happy to visit Norfolk, the first city he worked in. Bob has been working for us for 19 years.
