The Costume and Textile Collection, comprising about 40,000 pieces, enjoys an international reputation and is the largest collection of its kind in the South. Although the Valentine's primary collecting concentration is objects related to Richmond, the costume and textile collection's focus is broader, including items worn, used, made or sold in Virginia from the 1600s to the present.

Old Dominion Tours & Virginia Destinations, Inc.

1.0

By David Chapman

A company I worked for went with Old Dominion because it came in as the lowest bidder. A perfect example of "you get what you pay for". Without going into a long story, I'll give you the highlights; - Original hotel destination was having renovations done, so we had to change hotels. Trouble was, the new hotel did not have enough rooms. Took two hours of sitting on the bus waiting for our boss to get everything straight. - Tour guide knew absolutely nothing about the area. He even joked about sitting up all night on the internet trying to find out things. - Every part of the tour was mis-scheduled and disorganized. - They often picked us up from the sites late, sometimes over 30 minutes - The tour director found out we had a few who were not going to show up to a baseball game, so she proceeded to invite her family to drive down and take the seats. - We would all end up laughing at what mess ups awaited us that day. However, it's not funny that someone paid a lot of money for it ...read more

A Richmond Trolley

I read the two reviews above and I do see where the first person retracted their poor rating because they had filed the rating for the wrong company, but I saw the second rating and I have to think that this can't be right. We have used the folks at Winn for all three of our daughter's weddings and we have always been well taken care of. Our daughters have loved having the trolleys and they have "made" these special events for them, so much more special. The trolley drivers have always been so nice and we recommendt them to anyone who asks. I do think the secret (if there is one)is in the planning. So my guess is that the bride above probably poorly planned the transportation portion of the wedding. I also got onto several "wedding boards" and could not find anything derrogatory about the trolleys or Winn. Which begs the question why this lady would read bad reviews and still contract with the vendor (smells a bit fishy to me). My advice is do your homework, meet with your vendors, keep it simple and plan for the unexpected, you'll be fine. But as far as Winn Trolleys goes, they will ALWAYS have my business, but it will be grand kids from here on out, we were done a long time ago. ...read more

A Richmond Trolley

They are not reliable nor dependable. If you go on any wedding board you will see that many brides and people who use their services were disappointed. They not only sent a bus instead of the trolley to my wedding (AFTER i called and confirmed three days prior) but they tried to take me to wrong reception making me miss HALF my wedding. They were rude and unhelpful over the phone when we called to complain and STILL havnt sent my partial refund and it has been over a month since we spoke. They wait months to deposit your money and are not in the least concerned with customer service. I HIGHLY do not recommend Winn Transportation ...read more
