I had the contents of an entire 3 bedroom home stored there for approximately 10 years. The first management team that worked there were nice and very organized and kind. The 2nd team there, Mannie and Dottie were unable to even do the bare minimum necessary to run the place. I had to call and write them 5 times before they were able to make a simple change of address for me. I am assuming they never entered my new phone number into the computer system the same way. After paying these guys around $20,000. over this ten year period, they illegally auctioned off the contents of my storage area without notifying me. My entire life was in this storage area. Pictures of my children, my parents belongings, grandfathers art prints, historic textiles, antiques and my medical records! When I called to find out how much I owed them, they were incredible rude and said they had auctioned the unit the previous day. My daughter had to call them back, I was so distraught. Dottie told her that I had been late a few times and "they just didn't feel like dealing with it anymore" I asked them to please call the buyers of the unit so I had a chance to purchase my own belongings back and they wouldn't even do that. They also refused to give me or my daughter the name of their supervisor or the corporations name they actually worked for. Mannie said he didn't know who they were or who sent him his paycheck. Absolutely do not rent a unit here! Unbelievable, horrible customer service and the loss of all my belongings after $20,000. of payments should pretty much speak for itself. I had to hire an attorney but by the time this all plays out, I'm sure that no amount of money can compensate me for the loss of irriplaceble family heirlooms. My children are devastated. This is truly Richmond's best storage facility. The staff is polite and very professional. They go out of their way to assist you in getting the best bang for your buck. The units are spacious and clean. Having access to a truck to move in is an added bonus. Give them a try you will be glad you did! ...read more
