The One Innkeepers, Sean and Polly Brooks have lived on the Boulevard for 8 years. Sean is a Virginia native and Vice President of locally owned Eck Supply Company. Polly is a native of St. Louis, but has adopted Richmond as home. Polly is a Project Manager in the banking industry. Sean and Polly share a passion for entertaining and enjoy sharing with others their love of Richmond and life on the Boulevard, with all of its history and charm! Sean and Polly also enjoy hosting neighborhood events at The One. The One is a great spot to catch the firewords display every year on the 4th of July, the annual Anthem Marathon in November goes right by our front door and of course any day is a good day to relax on the porch at The One and enjoy an inpromptu gathering with friends and neighbors! The house, listed on the National Register of Historical Places, was originally built in 1914. The property was fully renovated in 2005. The home was featured on the annual Museum District Mother's Day Tour in 2008 and again in 2011. Most recently, The OneBed and Breakfastopened it's doors to nearly 900 visitors who attended the 2012 Virginia Garden Tour. TheOne Bed and Breakfastis named for it's unique location at 1 N. Boulevard on the corner of Boulevard and Main in the heart of the historic area of Richmond. Our logo comes from the unique design represented in each of the seven magnificant stained glass pieces found throughout the home. All of the stained glass is original to the home and still beautifully preserved since 1914. Marvin and Eugene are the resident canines at The One. If you have allergies not to worry, as they are not allowed on the second floor or in the the guest quarters, but both are happy to greet visitors, if given the opportunity. Marv and Little E, as we call him, enjoy the life of luxury on The Boulevard and spend the majority of their time lounging in the afternoon sunshine that streams in from Main Street. They certainly have the good life!! ...read more
