Why is Marketing so important to your business?

Marketing is the heart of your business and it is where your success ultimately comes from. If your business is going to succeed you need to ensure you have strong marketing. Marketing encompasses many different categories-advertising, public relations, promotions, and sales. When you market your business, you are introducing and promoting your business to gain potential clients. Marketing shows your clients and potential clients why your business is better than your competitors. It showcases your services and explains what your business is all about. Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, says “the secret to success in business is beating the competition. If you are a new entrepreneur just starting out, you are already on his radar.” Marketing isn’t just a part of your business it is your business. Your company could offer the best products on the market but if you do not have any marketing your customers may never know about you or your business. To grow your business, you need to be constantly marketing. Market your business in the elevator by creating an “elevator pitch”, network at events that are in your community, give a speech regarding the services you offer, and get referrals!! Marketing is expensive!!! My budget it tight and I can’t afford it, so I need to cut out marketing. No DO NOT DO THAT!! There are ways to do marketing on “shoestring budget”. As it was stated above think of a compelling or catchy “elevator pitch” that you can use to talk to people about your company. If you do the elevator pitch remember that you only have a couple minutes to discuss your business, so you need to make sure it is a strong pitch. You need to engage them and then get right to the point of what you offer. Another option is think about what is going on in your community-maybe your son or daughter has a sport event or sponsor an event in your community where you can pass out your business cards to get the word out about your business. You can do a collaboration with other businesses as well where you help them, and they help you. There is always networking events as well. Get involved in the community and find out where the networking events are go to them and get your name out there. Have contests where you offer discounts or a free service. Post those items on your Facebook or Instagram page. Make a big deal about it so that people will share the event with their friends. Have a referral program. These are all great ideas for marketing on a budget. Don’t let your finances get in the way of marketing your business. You are the voice for your business don’t allow your voice to not be heard. Marketing takes work but if you are passionate about your business you will put the work into getting the clients. Get out there and shout from the rooftop about your business. ...read more

Website-Do I need one?

I heard a statement once that said, “If you have a website it makes your small business look big!!” Are you small business owner or for that matter are you the owner of any business-small or large. Do you have a website? By not having a website for your business you are missing out on one of the BEST marketing tools for your business. You immediately gain credibility by having a well-structured website. No matter what you are offering or selling having a website drives more clients to your business.  Majority of small businesses (71%) indeed recognize the importance of a digital presence and created a website. Over half of small businesses surveyed launched their website before 2016, and another 16% launched in 2016 alone. Clutch.co When you are just starting your business, you need to have a way for potential clients to get to know you and find out what services your business offers. No matter if you are a small business, a local business or a larger business you need to ensure that you have a presence online that people can locate you with. Your website tells potential clients who and where you are located. We are in a digital age where people are using the internet to search for businesses. They are no longer using the phone book they are going to go to the internet to look for specific businesses especially local businesses.    Many business owners feel that they DO NOT need a professional website or even a website at all. Business owners that have been in business for a long time feel that word of mouth is all that they need or that they can obtain their clients strictly through Facebook or other social media channels. That is untrue. You are putting your company in jeopardy if you do not have a website. There are so many different benefits of having a website. Small business owners spend millions of dollars on brochures and other paperwork to showcase their business. The website encompasses all of that. The website is open 24/7 and allows people to visit your site any time of day or night. Your business value is determined by your website and you will have an influence on people deciding if they will do business with you or not. One of the most important things a website does is that it gives you a voice. Here at Central Web Technologies we strive to create that voice for you. We want to ensure that the website we put together speaks your language and the language of your clients. Your voice needs to be heard having your website it will be heard loud and clear. Think about it this way a website will promote you 24 hours-7 days a week no employer will do that.  ...read more

What is Social Media Marketing

What is social media marketing and how does it benefit my business? Great question. Many people know what social media is (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) but they don’t realize that all social media can be used to drive traffic to your website and ultimately to your business. With social media you can obtain potential and permanent clients that would benefit from your services. Facebook is a great place to reconnect with those people that you might not have seen since high school or those long-lost relatives that you haven’t seen since you were a child. Facebook is also great for showcasing your business to those that you are friends with as well as those that you maybe haven’t spoken with in a long time. Facebook is a great platform that gives you the opportunity to create a business page strictly for your business. The business page will ink to your personal page and it will drive traffic to your website. Instagram is another great platform for posting pictures of your business. You can do some “work in action” pictures where you can show your company in action. It gives your clients and visitors to your website a way to confirm you are “human”. They see you in the pictures working with other clients and that helps them to feel better about contacting you. Having videos on your social media pages are a great idea as well. It once again shows you as “human” and makes your clients much more comfortable contacting you. Your social media pages drive traffic to the internet-your website and work hand in hand with SEO (Search Engine Optimization). You know when you go online, and you are looking for a new doctor or someone to do repairs on your home you want to ensure that you are getting the best. Normally, we click on the fist couple of companies that appear in the search. Your goal for your company needs to be on that first page of Google so that it is one of the first one people see. Let your social media pages be more than a connection with a long-lost friend or relative. Allow your social media pages to work for you and obtain clients for your business. Drive traffic to your website through Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn and watch your company grow. It is hard work, but you will be pleased with the return you get. Happy Connecting!! ...read more
