well now its a sad sad sad place. 99% of the staff are racist. The mother and infant program is run like a juvenile detention center. It is obvious that the employees and owners of this place are only seeing $$$ signs and no one really cares about the quality of life of these girls. Sending a mother and her baby here is a sure guarantee for a deep depression. This atmosphere is by no means appropriate for these young mothers and their babies. Especially with mentally unstable girls integrated in the same areas. Hello all, Just wanted to write a note and let others know that I lived there from 1945-1955. It was quite different in those days.There were about 30 of us from all walks of life. We were taught proper manners, how to cook, religion, and how to make it in the outside world. When I was there, I hated it. I remember calling it a Jailhouse. Little did I know at the time that everything I learned would teach me to grow up to be an independent, self supporting person. I retired after many years of being a nurse supervisor at a retirement center. Before that I worked as an Oncology nurse for eight years at our local hospital.
