About Ceres, VA
Ceres is a part of the Appalachian Valley and Ridge region of Virginia known for its clear steams and curious geographic patterns of ridges and valleys. It is located in Bland County. Major attractions include the Appalachian Trail and Jefferson National Forest. Each year in the fall season there is a homecoming held at the Peery Center Gym. Among the businesses in Ceres are Ceres Farm Supply and Harner S General Store. One major road is Interstate 77, an important corridor that comes through the mountains of West Virginia. The biggest school here was Ceres High School, but now children attend Bland County schools. One of the best places to visit when you are in Ceres is Big Walker Mountain. One of the most famous people from Ceres is Henry C. Groseclose, a founder of the Future Farmers of America organization.
