I went to Uptown Cleaners on Eisenhower Ave in Alexandria to ask the woman if she could measure me for a bridesmaid dress. Before I can explain what I need, she emphatically says no. The place has a neon sign that says they do alterations and the woman has a measure tape on her desk. I ask how she does alterations without measuring people to which she has no response. I try to explain again that the measurements I need are the exact same as if I were giving her pants to alter, and that I will pay for the services. To which she rudely responds that they don’t do this work. So I responded that I do not appreciate her rude tone and that customer service matters. It is clear that this business does not care about pleasing customers so anyone needing dry cleaning and alternation services, DO NOT go to Uptown Cleaners. I work at the Patent and Trademark office and am one of many who have experienced such behavior. ...read more
