Camp K has good intentions but doesn't quite cut it when it comes to executing programs in an efficient and beneficial way. While camp provides an opportunity for individuals with disabilities to get out into the community and experience new activities, poor planning and lack of staff members hinders the benefits of the experience for participants. One would hope that the intention of the program would be to help participants have a meaningful experience while reaching individual and group goals. However, goals that are set for participants are rarely discussed and/or worked on with staff and the individual. If you are looking for a babysitting agency camp K might be the place for you. If you are looking for an internship/job with camp K this shouldn't be the place for you. Coming from an insiders point of view I can honestly say the use and abuse interns. Don't apply here if you want to learn much about therapeutic rec., voice your comments/concerns, or aren't LDS... good luck with the supervisor. ...read more

I called this to the attention of the law center and received two return calls over a period of 3 1 /2 months. recently I discovered that the original person I had dealt with had closed her part of the case and referred it to another person within the group. I was told initially that there were issues with the handicapped parking areas at the park but have never been updated or received anything from them with regards to this. I have been to court twice in the last 3 1/2 months about this and have a court appointment today (12/17/09). It would have been nice to have something in writing from them with regards to this (to take to court), but they have not been forthcoming. ...read more
