I just viewed "South Pacific" at the Capitol Theatre. The music and staging was fantastic but I felt that the audience should have been warned in advance about the full nudity in the production. If it had been a movie it would have been rated R. I was so glad that my teenage grandchildren were not able to attend. The nudity was not essential to the plot and left a bad taste in my mouth. I am no longer confident that I can depend on Capitol Theatre management to schedule performances that I am willing to view. ...read more

Summer Performing Arts camp for kids! Great deals for Merchants!

       Youth from all over the Salt Lake valley age 6 -16 are invited to come together to experience and participate in this wonderful Summer Camp program. Notable instructors, directors and artists will introduce, instruct and encourage campers to “take the stage” as they begin their journey of exploration and discovery into the many facets of the performing arts.      Our camps introduce character development and performance techniques along with creative movement, dance, staged combat training and much more! Our instructors bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the classes and foster a safe, nurturing environment.  The weekly camp session dates are listed below for your convenience. Each week begins at 9:00 am, Monday morning and classes end at 4:00 pm on Friday.    Session 1: June 13-17    Session 2: June 27-July1st     Session 3: July 25-29      Session 4: Aug. 1-5Session 5: Aug. 8-12 ·Please contact the Camp Director as soon as possible if your child would like to participate.Collin Kreuzer,at 801-898-2728.
