I have purchased about 15 SOLAR SPOT LIGHTS to use as focal lights for front of home and statuary in back yard. They worked great the first night....less great the next night....increasingly poor. Why? Because whoever designed this great little device never tried it out in NORMAL USE. The problem is the automatic on/off switch sensor is located on the Bottom of the Solar panel...this means that if I turn the panel to maximize generation, the sensor is pointed at THE GROUND. Maybe this is China's way of finding out just how stupid the Americans can be. A call to Westinghouse got a girl who could not stop eating her sandwich to talk plainly and then a supervisor who says I must tilt the panel almost vertical...thus I will not get much generation but it will not turn off too early! No offer to correct the problem or reimburse...just a SO WHAT ATTITUDE.....Yes, America IS headed for the dumper with these companies representing us.....time to turn the lawn into home gardens. ...read more

I have a LED solar powered Christmas light set that I got from Home Depot Jan 2010. the battery is dead..3.2 volt lithium " IRON "Phosphate, 1200 mAh.. Think they mean ION? They want me to buy 4 of them and they say they dont have a shelf life. Why do I need 4 of them when I only need one..1. At $24 it is a rip off..because the other 3 will just sit there for a few years and wont work like the original one didnt.. Willing to buy one but no..only 4 available from IDC Westinghoues. See what happens when a good US companies name get bought..and they product junk in CHINA. think twice before buying IDC Westinghouse solar powered light sets at a big box store. The best these solar lights worked was when i took them out of the box and pulled the protective battery plastic off. After the first night 4 of 8 did not work and the other four only worked for an hour or so. ...read more
