Wilson Motors

Wilson Motors made buying my New Explorer easy. I told them what I wanted my payments to be and they gave me my options. They went out of their way to ensure I got the color and model I wanted. I will definitely send my friends to Wilson Motors when they are looking for a new or used car. ...read more

Soon....

Soon the weather will cool off, and autumn will breeze in so briskly. You'll be invited outside by vivid blue skies and blowing leaves. As birds change venues, their happy parade from north to south is not to be missed. Sitting on an open porch, sipping tea and reading an old favorite, you'll actually feel the busy-ness of life dusting right off of you. This is what it will like at The Windmill Ranch Preserve very soon. Maybe you headed to your alma mater for a homecoming game. Maybe you're off to take your freshly graduated teen to his or her new dorm room at college. Or maybe your calendar opened up for a little "get-away" time. Whatever the occasion, we'd like to be the cozy road-side stop you turn into after a day of long travel. Call or email us. Tell us what you are looking for, and we'll do our very best make your stop, or stay, one that will not disappoint. By the way, we call our lodging accommodations The Quail Run Bed & Breakfast...because no one, not even the most cynical city-slicker, can resist a smile when our resident feathered friends come strutting out to feed and do their own version of the moon walk... now, don't you really want to stop by!!! ...read more

Summer time at the Ranch

Everyday is different than the day before, on The Windmill Ranch Preserve.  Between flowers blooming and vegetables growing and birds flying in and out, there is not sitting around, being bored!   Sunflowers, the favorite of locals and tourists alike, pop up in grand spectacle all around the ranch!  And not to be out done, prairie wildflowers of all colors are popping up, sometimes right up the very road you take in and out of this fine property. We have two kinds of gardening going out here at the ranch.  We have our conventional garden, with rows and rows of healthy stuff growing.  But our most recent success is our "hugelcultur", which is producing veggies like crazy!!!  You gotta come check this out! And now is really a good time to come pay us a visit if you are a birdwatcher!  It's really hard to decide where to sit around the big Pavilion, cuz there are so many good spots to spot your favorite feathered friend :) Visitors to the Ranch have voiced how much they would like to bottle some of our west Texas climate and take it home with them...it's understandable. Happy trails until we meet again... ...read more
