FORUM TV REPAIR

4.0

By joules

I took in a Samsung 4K TV which I had damaged by putting the wrong screws in the base mount. Three other local shops told me it was a very expensive repair and would cost anywhere between $325-$450. One shop told me it would be cheaper to replace with a new TV. They all siad the parts need were hard to get and the repair would take between 1-4 months because it was such a new model. I called Forum TV and talked to the owner Jay and he told to bring it in for a free repair estimate. His was the only shop I went to that did not charge me an estimate fee. The repair cost me a total of $178 and I had my set back in 10 days and it would have been sooner but he had to order the parts and it was a holiday weekend. The TV Works Great and he even put in the right base mounting bolts for me. No service shop is perfect 100% of the time and you can not make everyone happy but they really try and come close. If you need a TV fixed and don't want to be scammed I would try them first I wish I had and would have saved myself 2 months without my TV and I would not have wasted $80 in estimate fees. They are Pro-Military and I received a discount for that.I always prefer to use a business that stands behind our military, police and fireman. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. The only drawback is I wish they were open late on the weekend. ...read more

Brought in a 55" Panasonic TV that 3 other shops said would be over $300.00 to repair and that parts would not be available for over a month. Forum TV fixed it in 9 days for $165.00 with a board rebuild kit he found on line. Set still works great. His shop may look over crowded and a mess when you walk in but he really knows where everything is at and is really good at fixing TV's. The initial estimate was free and accurate to the penny. If your TV don't work would recommend you take here it is worth the drive ...read more

I had a Samsung LCD TV repaired at Forum TV about 6 months ago for $245.00 and it worked fine. 2 weeks ago it went out during a storm. Their warranty was only 90 days which I knew when unit was picked up. The owner asked me to bring it in so he could check on what happened to the TV. The problem turned out to be just a blown power supply fuse and he did not charge me to fix it even though it was out of warranty. That is what I call great and professional service. If you ever need a TV fixed take it to them. ...read more

Selecting A Camcorder

Which One To Choose? In the mid-1980s, when video camcorders became available to consumers, they were considered luxury items. Today, they are more like common household appliances. One fact you can count on is that digital video is the current wave. But should you stick with standard definition or go high def in picking a new camcorder?
