Awesome Experience! Rhodes is an extremely professional and knowledgeable driver training school. As an adult trainee, I had many apprehensions about driving. Once I finished my training, I am now a safe and knowledgeable driver with my Driver's License!!!! They kept me on track to reach my goal and I achieved it. If anyone is looking to learn real driving skills. ...read more

Sunnybrook Christian Academy

My husband is a graduate of SCA and now we have both of our kids there. Please look for actual reviews on other websites. This school uses Abeka Curriculum which is one of the best Christian curriculum available. The teachers teach the material and at the same time show them the love of Christ. The ratios in the classroom are low and seems to have about 8 students in every class. The gym is great and other people actually ask to use the gym. There is also stadium seating for the football field. You should really tour the school to get an actual idea of it. ...read more

DO NOT USE THIS DAYCARE!!! Mary is so fake. I picked my son up who is 2 1/2 years old and he was always dirty and he is the type of child who loves to wash his hands and clean his face, he's being raised to have good hygiene. The 2 yr old room smells dirty. The teachers look and talk ghetto. I told Mary I'd be taking my son out and she said I needed to give a 2 week notice uh no my child hated that daycare and had never cried and screamed the way he did when I dropped him off. My husband and I went in there yesterday and she asked to talk to us. It was 5 pm. The 2 year old class was watching tv and in their policy book it states tv is only on during drop off and pick up time. If they were watching tv at 5 pm & my husband usually picks up at 6:00/6:30 that's 1-1.5 hours of afternoon tv time. Well guess what that's all the children do is watch tv. My son was there 2 weeks and not once came home with a painting, project or educational work he'd done. My husband was so upset when I enrolled our son cause he hated it as soon as he saw the room our son was in. Don't do it parents, the low 4 week free isn't worth it. They sucker you in and have thug sign a 90 day contract. Bs!!! ...read more

I'm not sure what these reviews are talking about! I LOVE the Young Scholars Huebner location. I believe the owners knew they had overextended themselves b/c I was told the center in Bulvrede was sold so that they could put more into the Huebner one. I never had any issues but if others have, they might be resolved. I used to have to pick up my daughter for therapy apps during lunch occasionally and there was always tons of food. Probably more than needed but that's just my personal opinion and Mary is a very sweet lady and from what I see a great Director. I would say, go see for yourself! Hope this helps a parent searching for childcare:) ...read more

my child has been going to the Bulverde location for over 2 years now. im not familiar with a "mary". Margaret was the director until Friday, which yet again this daycare has a NEW OWNER. all I have to say is thank GOD bc the previous owner definitely could not get it together. running 3 businesses, never at the center. I haven't seen her since the first month she took over. this daycare had new teachers every month, new directors every few months. I just HOPE things change FAST for the better. ...read more

The review I had written was about the Bulverde location. They can never keep an employee long. And that is because their checks always bounce.I have heard a few things about the Huebner location as well. The Bulverde locations new director Mary is horrible. She does not know how to treat her employees. I was concerned about my children at the daycare there was not much stability. Right before I pulled my children out of the center Mary was having the toddlers and babies sleep, eat, and play all in the same room because they were so understaffed! I'm sorry but if I remember correctly from working in a center that is against licensing! So the Huebner location is probably different but I know it isn't by much. I know of plenty of times when the children hardly had food to eat and Mary wouldn't even go to the store and get food she would just scrap stuff together so the children would have 2 tator tots each a piece of bread, water, and a few slices of an apple!Pretty sure that isn't enough! ...read more

I am really confused by these last couple reviews. Our 2 kids have been at the center for some time now and we are very pleased. I just dropped off my youngest at 11:45 after a Dentist Appt and the kids were having a good, healthy meal. I even asked a teacher about this review and she assured me there has never been a food issue and that there is usually tons of food left over each week.I usually drop off right in the middle of breakfast and I've never seen anything that would cause me to worry. I did have a teacher try to "recruit" my kids and heard from other parents that they were trying to take kids from the center to start their own home daycare which I thought was very unprofessional.I did alert the owners and Director to let them know. It's hard to know if an employee is truthful or just a bitter ex employee. As a parent who is happy, I would definitely say to go to the center and develop your own opinion. It's the only real review that matters anyway. My kids are happy as am I:) ...read more

This daycare needs to be shut down! I'm so surprised they were even able to get licensed. They continue to add kids without hiring any new teachers! They do not care about how there employees are beyond stressed because they cant even get anyone in to do an interview! The new director at the Bulverde center is rude and hateful! The owners say they will send an ex-employee their paycheck through the mail and somehow it "must have gotten lost" because the employee never sees their check until months later and then their check bounces! The owners do not care about the children all they care about is money money money. If you cant handle 3 businesses then get rid of them because obviously you cant handle it especially when CPS energy drops off a shut off notice of your electricity that just shows you they can not handle their business' much less their money. These owners cant handle their business' much less their own 3 children seems like they need to get things figured out... asap! ...read more

So unprofessional! The owners also own a center in Bulverde and let me say this... if your thinking about putting your child at this center or if your children are already going to this school... GET THEM OUT ASAP! The owners do not care about their employees much less the children! Employees checks bounce all the time and not to mention this center goes through so many teachers its ridiculous. and they wonder why they cant get anybody in there to interview much less stay for longer than 6 months. They never have food at the center when they are supposed to so the director ends up going out and spending their own money and gas just so the children can eat a decent lunch. Yeah the director gets reimbursed but that is not how it should be. The children have zero stability because the owner doesn't care if she loses any employees it just means more money in their pocket to spend on stuff that has nothing to do with her business. ...read more

I had my children in this school very unprofessional, my kids were always eating the the same thing. The director Mary gone for 2 hrs every day for lunch, could care less about your kids. All she is concern is about the payment. I would not recommend this daycare to no one. She constantly kept callin me for any little thing regarding my children. I almost lost my job cause of her. Thank God I found a excellent day care were I have had no problems at all. ...read more

Is your Child a Picky Eater?

PICKY EATER STRATEGY While we all understand the importance of good nutrition during early childhood, a few of us are blessed with extraordinarily picky eaters. What's a parent to do?   Children who attend preschool are better served when their parents pack their lunches. Why? Because the process of choosing, packing and providing healthy meal choices is in the hands of parents; not a caterer or packaged meal plan provider. This is especially important if your child is a picky eater.   The Strategy: Let your child be a part of a healthy food conversation. Discuss the week's menus and the specific ingredients. Read cookbooks and magazines – or just look at the interesting pictures. Engage your child while at the food store and give them choices. For example, "Let's pick a fruit to pack in your lunches. Would you like to bring strawberries or apples?" Add a little sous chef to your dinner preparations. Ask your children to bring two lemons to you or put them in charge of stirring cold items. This may delay dinner, but consider the reward - quality time! It is normal for toddlers and young children to be picky eaters. They may refuse food based on its texture or color - do not fret, keep trying!   Parent Tips: Offer new foods on multiple occasions. Many children need to try a new food up to a dozen times before they like it. Set a good example and try new foods yourself. Encourage healthy food portions. Never insist that children "clean their plates." Rewarding a clean plate may lead to a distorted idea of food, such as ignoring feeling full or eating for a reward. Make healthy snacks available. Make fruits or veggies convenient to your child. Encourage your children to serve and feed themselves. Independence boosts self-esteem which leads to better food choices. Make ‘dining out' a special occasion – even if it's at the local burger joint. Children can practice manners and food choices in any dining experience.   Reward children with praise, hugs and kisses. Resist rewarding children's good behavior with sugary treats.   ...read more
