Just because zero stars is not an option....... They apparently, don't need your business. After taking our Oculus unit in to assess, they told us the would let us know by next day. Long story short, today starts week 3, and not only have we always had to be the ones to contact (or try to) them, they say that they "just can't get to it because of a backlog." They couldn't tell us that BEFORE we left it with them??? We don't exactly live close to them. They were chosen because of good reviews. No idea how they earned those, with our experience. Now, we have no fix, AND we've wasted at least 3 hours. We will be billing them OUR hourly wage for 3 hours! ...read more

When it comes to computers and electronics, the only dumb question is the question you don't ask! I often go out to customers to fix their computers or help them learn how to better use and customize their computers and they either tell me that they feel stupid asking questions or start out asking their questions by saying, "This is a dumb question...". Many of them won't even ask questions, either because they don't know the terminology or they don't want to appear as if they are lacking in knowledge of computers. In my experience, the only way you learn, is to ask. I encourage my customers to ask questions and I try to explain, to the best of my ability, on their level of computer experience, whatever that may be. If I don't know the answer, I go find the resources to answer the question. I don't dumb it down, but try to relate to the person using terminolgy that relates to what they know and do every day. Sometimes, that is tricky, because their business has terminology and processes that I don't understand. In that case, I use the questions they ask to learn more about their business and it helps both of us to steer their computer experience more to what they want to do, not what some computer person wants them to do or their neighbor or kid suggested. As a result, there is a better computer experience for the end user, and better customer relations for me and my customers. This attitude of caring and empathy can carry over to any other business as well.
