Having gotten to know Mickey Blake at the golf course. I have learned what a wonderful person he is. His staff reflects his image; only not bald. I purchased a bed one year ago. I don't even know the name. I liked the way it felt, Mickey showed me how to make it last and that it can be returned to the original new shape. I sleep well. I have been wanting to buy a new recliner and then a couch. Mickey introduced me to a combo that was the color I wanted, on sale and offered free delivery. Based on the regular priced items, Mickey saved me a little over $1000. I paid down on the combo and left in about 15 minutes with montly payment of $42. The delivery people ere kwoledgeable and friendly as well. A new washer and dryer will be next; then a dining table. In the last 5 or 6 months, we have purchased 2 recliners from Blake Furniture in Longview, Tx. On July 11, 2009, my husband & I went back to Blake Furniture & purchased another recliner. (We gave one of the others to our son) We told them that our son would be picking up the new recliner in about 1 hour (he had use of a friend's pickup), which would have been about 5 P.M.. We were then told that the store closes at 5 P.M. We told them that if he didn't get there before they closed, they would have to deliver it on Monday. THEY DON'T DELIVER ON MONDAYS. They would deliver the chair on Tuesday. I called them this morning to make sure they would deliver the chair on Tuesday. THEY CAN'T DELIVER IT UNTIL WEDNESDAY. They called me back & told me that because we live in Gladewater we will be charged $35.00 to deliver. The fact that we have now bought 3 recliners from them in less than 6 months means nothing to them BLAKE FURNITURE WILL NOT BE GETTING ANY MORE OF OUR BUSINESS. ...read more
