First Baptist Church

5.0

By megaj at Citysearch

there may be a group of people who didn't appreciate the practices of FBCLH, but I think the varied difference of how a church should behave was reveled in this process: those who see church as a place to give and grow, and those who see church as a place for their families to receive. Their is nothing wrong with the latter, it's just the way the ordinary church goes, and I guess I'm aiming for extraordinary. I'm not just looking for a place where my kids can have a great youth minister or a place where I can fade into the mediocre crowd, I'm looking for a place where I can find out who I am in Christ, and where I can be used to change the world. The staff at First Baptist encourages to change the world and "trade up" for more. That may mean not getting your exact way but it's about honoring the process of surrendering you life to Christ, even if it's your options about church. We have a great youth program where I kids learn to serve and respect others, great teaching and preaching (I?ve learned more than i ever have here), and usually an awesome time of worship (one of leaders has cancer and we've made some adjustments, but it's still pretty good). People are real and friendly, and I think if you are looking to discover who Christ is and what it really means to be a Christian, this is the place to you. I love first baptist church liberty hill. ...read more

Season of Now

I feel compelled by the Holy Spirit once again to write from my heart. I want to encourage everyone with what I believe the Lord has been saying to me in the past few days. And that is, “we are in a Season of Now”. When the Holy Spirit spoke these words to me I immediately thought about the words Paul spoke in 2 Corinthians 6:2, “For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of Salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; Behold, now is the day of Salvation.” In the first part of this verse, Paul is Quoting the Prophet Isaiah in chapter 49 verses 8. Paul is calling the people’s attention to the fact that 800 years prior, Isaiah had spoken prophetically about the coming church age, the age when the gentiles would be accepted into the Kingdom. He goes on to verify to his listeners that, “Now is that time Isaiah spoke of”. In essence he said to them, “This is a now season for that prophecy”.            I believe we are living in a “now season” concerning prophetic words given to us through Prophets, prophetic visions, and prophetic dreams. Some of the Prophetic things that were given to us years ago are about to come to pass. Many of us received some of these prophetic promises as long as 20 years ago. I personally have been waiting for 18 years for the things spoken to me through a vision and 3 different prophetic ministries. I have continued to trust God to bring them to pass and praise God I can finally say, “Now is the time”. The Church abroad has just now entered a “now season”, so I want to encourage you to remember the things God has promised you, call them to His remembrance, and expect them to come to pass. God has always kept His promises and will bring them to pass in season. So many times we as people miss God’s promises because we want them in our season and give up too soon. We fail to position ourselves by faith and neglect the fact that God can’t lie. The only thing we have to do as believers is to keep saying yes to God, no matter what He asks us to do, and we will receive the promise – if we “faint not”.
