My expereince with Ulta has always been pleasent, untill the day I was put with Karen in the salon.. I have had my hair done by a couple of the hairdressers there, never a problem, im not picky, nor would I complain, unless it was something as severe as my encounter.\t\n To start it off, I had a 1 oclock apt. I was told by Karen that she was running behind, fine. no problem. I waited about 30 minutes, untill I asked the girl at the desk, would I be seen soon, she told me that it shouldnt be to much longer and apologized. Ok so I sit some more, like 45 minutes more. By this time I was a little irrated but thought hey I guess it happens...I was just releived for her to start and get my color done and get out of there.\t\n She kept telling me she was the color specialist or something of ulta. I wanted highlights and my base color redone. Long story short, I left with orange and yellow highlights that"bled" , which is what the girl told me where I went to get it fixed, and orange roots. While I was waiting under the dryer for over an hour, one of the hair dressers , not karen came to ask if I was ok and seemed concerened taht I was there so long. When I peeked around the corner to see if she forgot about me I saw Karen working on someone else! omg ! i asked her to just rihense me and get me out of there. She insisted I let her dry and style my hair.. I saw my hair breaking off and the color and was mortified. \t\n Karen must of been color blind because she kept saying oh it looks so good,,omg really orange and yellow breaking off hair looks good. I paid because I dont like to cause a scene, did not tip and would NEVER come back to her. I went to my freinds ssalon who asked if the person who did my hair even had a license, and couldnt believe I paid for that ! I probably wont ever go back to the salon, even though the times before Karen " the color specialist" touched and ruined my hair, were ok, because it just left a really bad taste in my mouth, but I will continue to shop there. BEWARE seriously, you have no idea how much trouble I have went through trying to get my hair just decent looking. But if you do decide to visit the salon, DO NOT GO TO KAREN..!!!!! \t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n ...read more

It seems you have to be Caucasian to get service or even a "sorry for the delay". I had an appointment, and arrived a few minutes early. When my appointment time came and went I talked to the girl at the front and informed her of my appointment and asked about when I can expect to get some service - explaining that I couldn't be too late as I had to pick my son up from school after the appointment. All I got were nasty looks and that was it. I waited another 15 minutes with not even a "We're sorry for the delay" - not a single word from anyone. I have never seen such discrimination ever! ...read more
