Ambassadors Assisted Living

5.0

By Justin Hanger

I have to admit, when my mother first moved into Ambassadors assisted living facility, we were a little skeptical. But pretty soon we realized that we had made the right move. It worked well not just for us, but for mom too; she simply loves it! The staff and the residents are wonderful. We also got a chance to meet Victoria; the person behind this community. She assured us all extra help will be provided and the housekeeping is available at all times in case of any emergency. ...read more

I must say, my grandfather is very pleased ever since he’s arrived at Ambassadors Assisted Living. The staff is well trained and the location is great. My grandfather is happy to be here, although he suffers from dementia. The level of care they render is commendable. It's so nice to see him smiling and talking to the other inmates. ...read more

Hampton at Pinegate

Pros: clean facility, close by our homeCons: activities don't always occur, they don't give "choice" at meals, understaffed, dismissive managementScary: medication supervision ( mistakes, they don't "supervise", have found medications in moms pockets on four separate occasions), they say they give her meds ( I have had her out at drs. Appts. And hospital on all day visits came back and requested her meds, just to have them claim they gave them). We paid for "stand by shower assist" it never happened, we agreed for laundry service 7.00 a load--- never happened. Maintenance never changed the main light bulb as requested four times and after three falls. She fell the last time hitting her head, bruising her hip and breaking her finger. I changed the bulb myself after bringing her back from the hospital and they send a guy up to change the bulb!?!? Upshot: I'm paying for a sitter to do the things I pay this place to do until I can find a safe place for her. Pass on this place ...read more

Why Move to Independent Living?

There are a multitude of reasons that retired adults would want to move into an independent living community. Many do not realize the advantages of living in communities for independent seniors and often ask why would they need to move. Well, here are some points to help you better understand why moving might be the right choice for you. At an independent living facility, you have the ability to meet people your own age and in the same life stage as yourself. Being able to socialize with others like yourself can help improve your quality of life as opposed to living home alone. The people you meet in your community will easily become your friends that you will be able to attend activities and events with. There is a wide range of clubs or groups to join at most independent living communities. From chess club to a quilt making class, and everything in between, there is bound to be an activity that you love to participate in. It is very common to also have day trips in the area to either popular or historical places with the group or club that you become a part of. Since an independent living facility is very similar to an apartment complex, you are able to come and go as you please, allowing you to visit family or even still take vacations. At the same time, your community will have security services to help create a safe environment for you to live in. Most common aspects of security are gated entrances and on-site courtesy officer on site. One of the biggest draws to independent livings is that you no longer have to worry about the cost or hassle of maintaining a home. Commonly included in your monthly rent are maintenance, landscaping, dining, and trash services. Some facilities even offer all utility bills paid and cleaning services, making your day-to-day life worry free. Whether you are looking to cut back on your daily chores or to get involved with people your own age, moving into an independent living facility has the ability to meet all your needs while making life easier.
