The culture and people are sub-par at best. The culture allows the mediocre to rise to the top and stay at the top for years. The accounting needs to be looked into very closely. Gross mistakes have been made for many years and there has been obscene misuse and management of member funds. I've never seen such incompetence at all levels... If you have a LOANS at this Credit Union they Will Misapply your Payment on your account and Will Not Even Notify you and therefore will cause you to be 30 or 60 days late and reported to the Credit Bureaus. This occurred numerous times through the Years.. and during the ""Over the Phone"" payment which there is a FEE which consistently increases ( was $8.95 per loan and now $10.95). \t\n\t\nOh..You have to ""Call-In"" your Payment because there is NO Online System to Make a Payment directly like most Creditors and Banks. I have repeatedly made suggestions and request to the CEO Angela.McCathran\t\n(Angela.McCathran@peoplestrustfcu.dotorg), Kimberly Carter and Marvena Kinloch but No Efforts to improve their online infrastructure is made. Instead of Opening Branches, why Not Improve your Online Payment Ability so Members Does not have to Call over the Phone.\t\n\t\nThis Credit Union is Dated and Does Not Invest in the Technology Needed to Improve Customer Service to their Members. \t\n\t\nDon't Call Customer Service - 713.428.3200\t\nHold times are Excessively Long and Ridiculous and Yes They Will Transfer your Call, only to Hold Longer for 10-15 mins.\t\n\t\nSo Again, Here is a Nice Summary to Why NOT Bank here.\t\n\t\n1) Very Long Phone Hold Times - 15-20 mins\t\n2) No Online Payment System for your LOANS\t\n3) No Communications between the Reps and Collections\t\n5) No Acceptance of Accountability\t\n6) No System in Place in the Event a Payment Does Not Post or Gets Debited.\t\n7) No Acknowledgement or Concern from CEO. - Never Got ONE Phone Call to apologize or show ways to accommodate the customer \t\n8) Did I mention Long Phone Hold Times and Terrible Customer Service and Communications\t\n9) No Receipt of Payment made over the Phone\t\n10) Other Un-Happy Members please also file reviews and complaints at these other websites to Help Share your Experience \t\nripoffreport-dotcom\t\ncomplaints-dotcom\t\ncomplaintsboard-dotcom\t\npissedconsumer-dotcom\t\nbbb-dotcom\t\n ...read more

This bank is horrible. Really, this negative review is my fault. I had the crazy optimism that a Co Op Credit union was different then other banking institutions. I thought that severally excessive fees to the point that I would have to go without food would never occur. I have excellent A+ credit. I have never had the problem I encountered at the bank I was currently at. I switch banks when I relocated from IL to Houston, TX. My bank was great. It was amazing but it wasn't local.\t\n\t\nI am so angry- I can't even go into detail without it wrecking the rest of my day. The person who wrote the positive review works at the bank-for sure. \t\n\t\nTheir horrible banking and customer service cause me to default on my account for a very short period of time (3 hours). Most banks wouldn't have even have caught such a small error on the weekend. They were SUPPOSED to decline my card when the available balance was less than the purchase amount (because I DECLINED to op-in as required by federal law) but this is no what they did. Instead they charged me real time-friendly 29.00 fees (federal limit). I made several small purchases. They ending up charging me over 200 in fees for 30 dollars in over drafts. The over draft fees continued to bring my balance more and more negative so that even though I immediately put more money in i was still negative. I went to two branch locations looking for ATMs (no atms), I checked online to check where the nearest ATM was, which ATMs were supported. Couldn't find anything. Couldn't find anything on their website for their fee schedule!! I asked them when I got the account which ATMs were supported and the girl mumbled something (didn't say anything) and then I forgot to clarify with her.\t\n\t\nThey don't have electronic check deposit, so I couldn't deposit any checks. \t\n\t\nNot only that, they NEVER sent me my debit card. They also didn't tell me about all the fees (which I wasn't expecting from a credit union).\t\n\t\nI agree with everyone else's review.\t\n\t\nDON'T BANK HERE.\t\n\t\nThey call it ""un-banking"" but its a SCAM. ...read more
