Levit Rochelle Ph.D.

5.0

By musiclove1232

I saw Dr. Levit for about 10 sessions as she was on my insurance plan and I wanted to see a woman. When I first met her, I tried to put my 1st impressions, and gut instinct aside. She was dressed in all couture clothes, and high heels, and tons of makeup, and seemed so impressed with how she looked. This is clearly not important when seeing a Psychologist. Every time I went afterwards, she had the same, very unprofessional dress, and spoke about how I should take better care of myself...and mentioned my "dress," and perhaps "makeup" would make me feel better. The last straw was when she was drifting asleep while I was talking. When I asked if she was tired, she was not honest with me and said no. I never went back again. Please do your research, and look at pictures before you choose to see her. Perhaps she would be good for socialites only and those who care so much about how they look. I am a dentist, and have met many doctors, and have never seen a Psychologist who cared so much about her/his appearance over precedence to being professional and sensitive to the kind of clientele who comes in. ...read more

West Heights Shelter

5.0

By 80sdude

This shelter save my life. Lost my apartment when i ended up in the ICU @ Memorial NW.My belongings had been discarded by the landlord. OK I had a SSI check but not feeling well to travel and not having deposit for an apartment. For a once a month payment I stayed there at West Heights shelter about a month and was picked up by a seperate government sponored home at 33% of my disbaility income. The people there, the host volunteers helped me with advocacy in my medical care. Then gathered for me clothes and housing furnishings as they were donated in. Otherwise my money would have run out and I would have been under that bridge near teh new Walmarts._Justamonkey ...read more

Pet odors and stains

It's already a stressful day. You're packing the last of your things, the movers have come and are bustling around your house...and then you look down at your carpet. Stains and odors still linger from your beloved pets, and you need your deposit back. Here are a few tips for removing stubborn stains and odors from carpet and upholstery. A lot of times, a simple remedy is called for. Baking soda does wondrous things for stains and odors. Sprinkle some on affected areas and let it sit overnight. Vacuum it up in the morning, and continue through this blog if your problem is not solved! Magic Erasers are often a good solution for hardwood and linoleum stains. Try this before you proceed with more rigorous techniques. Now, you've tried the basic stuff and it just hasn't worked. Our old friend baking soda, in conjuction with other cleaning products, will come in again and do it's job as the awesome multi-purpose substance we all know and love. For new urine stains, blot the area with paper towels to remove excess urine. Once the area is as dry as you can get it, cover the area with baking soda. Don't be stingy! Make sure there is alot of baking soda on the affected area. Vacuum the area the next morning.  Unfortunately, pets can still smell odors that we cannot, which will lead them to the same places and cause continual urination in the same spot. Try putting some peppermint oil on the area, dogs don't like the smell and will avoid it.  For old stains, those that you may not have seen, the process is little more lengthy.  Combine 1/4 cup white vinegar, 1/4 cup pet odor shampoo, 1/3 cup Simple Green, and few squirts of dish soap with a gallon of water. Use a scrub brush to scrub the area rigorously, then let it soak for 20 minutes.  After this is done, use a shampooer to shampoo the carpets. Your stain should be gone! Finally, for odors in your car, there are some unexpected solutions. Lay out blankets for your pets to lay on. This way they never have direct contact with the fabric on your seats.  If the odors already exist, lay a few bread slices on a paper towel to catch the crumbs and leave them over night. If that doesn't work, try a tray of crushed charcoal briquet's under the seats of your car. Just make sure it doesn't make a mess! Tips for Re-Locating

We understand that moving to a new place can often be strenuous. In this blog, you'll find tips for making your relocation easier. Keep reading for tips on your new community, and how to adapt yourself, your pets and your children. First, look into your new communities newspaper. With this, you can find events, the best local businesses, reviews and customer recommendations. The newspaper can make it much easier to find out where the people are in the city. There should also be free magazines in your community, like the Greensheet (http://www.thegreensheet.com/) that provide you with the same opportunities. Libraries can also be a great place to socialize. While finding a book or magazine, you can find community boards as well as maps for your city. The librarians are also a good source of information. Find your local library here: http://www.publiclibraries.com/ Classes and social events at your local recreation/community center can also prove to be very helpful. Learn something you've always wanted to, while networking and finding interesting and great people within your community that share the same interests. Alot of cities and towns have special maps for people visiting or moving to your location. Check with you local chamber of commerce to find one for your town. Besides maps and brochures, the chamber of commerce is a great resource for your new town. The employees there will know where to go to find what, and will have many great tips for you and your family. Another important resource for new cities is the internet. You have all of the resources named before in one convenient location. If you don't want to get internet in your home, find out which businesses and locations provide free wi-fi and do a search on your town. Often times, there will be a forum for new residents that allows you to interact with other new residents, as well as veterans. Many places do walk tours through the city, and some of them are free. Don't be shy, get involved! Parks for both children and animals can also be a great place to meet people. Families and pet owners are looking to socialize just like you are! Overall, ensure that you speak often with the other members of your community. Technology has aided movers in a great many ways, however, there is nothing more effective than good old fashioned networking. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more moving tips! www.trawaymovingservices.com ...read more
