I saw Dr. Levit for about 10 sessions as she was on my insurance plan and I wanted to see a woman. When I first met her, I tried to put my 1st impressions, and gut instinct aside. She was dressed in all couture clothes, and high heels, and tons of makeup, and seemed so impressed with how she looked. This is clearly not important when seeing a Psychologist. Every time I went afterwards, she had the same, very unprofessional dress, and spoke about how I should take better care of myself...and mentioned my "dress," and perhaps "makeup" would make me feel better. The last straw was when she was drifting asleep while I was talking. When I asked if she was tired, she was not honest with me and said no. I never went back again. Please do your research, and look at pictures before you choose to see her. Perhaps she would be good for socialites only and those who care so much about how they look. I am a dentist, and have met many doctors, and have never seen a Psychologist who cared so much about her/his appearance over precedence to being professional and sensitive to the kind of clientele who comes in. ...read more

This shelter save my life. Lost my apartment when i ended up in the ICU @ Memorial NW.My belongings had been discarded by the landlord. OK I had a SSI check but not feeling well to travel and not having deposit for an apartment. For a once a month payment I stayed there at West Heights shelter about a month and was picked up by a seperate government sponored home at 33% of my disbaility income. The people there, the host volunteers helped me with advocacy in my medical care. Then gathered for me clothes and housing furnishings as they were donated in. It's already a stressful day. You're packing the last of your things, the movers have come and are bustling around your house...and then you look down at your carpet. Stains and odors still linger from your beloved pets, and you need your deposit back. Here are a few tips for removing stubborn stains and odors from carpet and upholstery. A lot of times, a simple remedy is called for. Baking soda does wondrous things for stains and odors. Sprinkle some on affected areas and let it sit overnight. Vacuum it up in the morning, and continue through this blog if your problem is not solved! Magic Erasers are often a good solution for hardwood and linoleum stains. Try this before you proceed with more rigorous techniques. Now, you've tried the basic stuff and it just hasn't worked. Our old friend baking soda, in conjuction with other cleaning products, will come in again and do it's job as the awesome multi-purpose substance we all know and love. For new urine stains, blot the area with paper towels to remove excess urine. Once the area is as dry as you can get it, cover the area with baking soda. Don't be stingy! Make sure there is alot of baking soda on the affected area. Vacuum the area the next morning. Unfortunately, pets can still smell odors that we cannot, which will lead them to the same places and cause continual urination in the same spot. Try putting some peppermint oil on the area, dogs don't like the smell and will avoid it. For old stains, those that you may not have seen, the process is little more lengthy. Combine 1/4 cup white vinegar, 1/4 cup pet odor shampoo, 1/3 cup Simple Green, and few squirts of dish soap with a gallon of water. Use a scrub brush to scrub the area rigorously, then let it soak for 20 minutes. After this is done, use a shampooer to shampoo the carpets. Your stain should be gone! Finally, for odors in your car, there are some unexpected solutions. Lay out blankets for your pets to lay on. This way they never have direct contact with the fabric on your seats. If the odors already exist, lay a few bread slices on a paper towel to catch the crumbs and leave them over night. If that doesn't work, try a tray of crushed charcoal briquet's under the seats of your car. Just make sure it doesn't make a mess!
