My name is Hilda Hayati. I am the Migrant Out-of-School Youth Recruiter for the Region 7 Education Service Center in Kilgore, Texas. Our facility provides educational services in this area. My job is to contact farmers, ranchers and plant nursery owners trying to locate Out-of-School Youth (OSYs) who are under 22 years of age, and: • Have no high school diploma or GED, and • Have moved into the school district area within the last 36 months in order to obtain temporary employment in agriculture or fishing work Our service center supports OSY youth by providing access to community services which provide job training, credit recovery, and educational services (including GED and English-language skills).
