My company hired Gary Brown CPA in 2003 as an accountant and tax preparer. I found him to be unorganized, and inconsistent with his billing and invoicing, as one point he started complaining that I needed to pay him for his services, yet he was unable to provide detailed invoices. In 2008 I decided to hire another CPA to handle my accounting and tax preparation, it soon was discovered that due his many errors, the business returns for, 2005, 2006, and 2007, had to be amended, which generated a refund of over $80,000.00 from the IRS. This year I was notified by the IRS that a 1099-misc was filed by him using my SSN for over $10,000.00, I have never worked for him, so this too was done in error. 5 years later this is his way of sending a final bill. Would you continue working for someone that owed you $10,000.00, that alone shows what a bad business man he is. It is not unethical to be a really bad CPA, it unethical to report a 1099 for a prior client. ...read more

Gary Brown, CPA, in Georgetown, Texas, knowingly cheated me out of my tax return. He met with me for 1 hour as a consultation to fraud me into hiring him, claiming my return would yield approximately $3,000. I have not used a CPA and went to him on reccomendation. There is no way he could not have know my return would yield less than $500, not the $3,000 he estimated. When I confronted him, he only demanded payment for his services which exactly equalled the amount of my return. He then threatened to file criminal charges for theft of services if I did not immediately pay. He is a schister and a CHEAT. Very unethical. I could've gotten better results with Turbo Tax online, I reccomend all of you do the same. ...read more
