Lulu's The Salon & Spa

5.0

By calamityjane

Hadn't been here in awhile. So not worth the wait. The style I wanted with photos brought in with me was not even similar to what I left with. Be careful of who you get. Although most people who have cut for awhile are set in their ways they have a new one who is set in her ways after only having cut less than 4 yrs. Sad. They carry Aveda but are not a Aveda shop....that is unusual. No amount of money can replace what went on the floor- 1 yr's hair growth and a crappy hair style. ...read more

Kwikklips

5.0

By Emma007

I was referred to Kwikklips by a friend who had been going there for years and after I had a disastrous cut from my old stylist. At first, I thought, "you get what you pay for," but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a small shop, and the owner and stylist, Jamie, gave me her full attention. It was nice not to have to be made to sit in the loung for a while, then move to be shampooed, then sit again waiting for my stylist. Of course, none of that mattered had my cut (and color) not turned out to be fantastic! Jamie took the time to go over what cut would look good with my face, what colors best suited my skin tone. And I just about died when she told me how much it was--a LOT less than I have paid in the past! If you want to do you and your checkbook a favor, go see Jamie at Kwikklips! ...read more

The Miraculous Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil has gotten a really bad rap, mostly because of greedy and deceptive media campaigns from the Soy Companies. Since discovering the amazing properties of this miracle oil, I have incorporated it fully into my family's lifestyle. We cook with it, brush our teeth with it. We bathe and wash our faces with my coconut-lime or peppermint coco-salt scrubs (available atin), we drink coconut milk, and more... The results have been unbelievable, most visibly, to our skin. So, let's revisit some ancient, but now mostly unknown, facts about coconut oil, for skin and for consumption...(Fromwww.coconutresearchcenter.org/)Coconut oil has healing properties far beyond that of any other dietary oil and is extensively used in traditional medicine among Asian and Pacific populations. Pacific Islanders consider coconut oil to be the cure for all illness. The coconut palm is so highly valued by them as both a source of food and medicine that it is called "The Tree of Life." Only recently has modern medical science unlocked the secrets to coconut's amazing healing powers. In traditional medicine around the world coconut is used to treat a wide variety of health problems including the following: abscesses, asthma, baldness, bronchitis, bruises, burns, colds, constipation, cough, dropsy, dysentery, earache, fever, flu, gingivitis, gonorrhea, irregular or painful menstruation, jaundice, kidney stones, lice, malnutrition, nausea, rash, scabies, scurvy, skin infections, sore throat, swelling, syphilis, toothache, tuberculosis, tumors, typhoid, ulcers, upset stomach, weakness, and wounds.
