Do not move here!! This place is infested with roaches and rats. Also if you have children do not move here. Drug infested and the manager in the office never in the office. Upon move in I notified the leasing office that my washer and dryer were not working. Knowing that this is not an urgent maintenance issue I expected maybe 72 hours, however that turned into 3 weeks all due to a switch that was missing. At the beginning of Jan. 2011, I encountered hot water problems. Resulting in me not having running hot water in any of my faucets, including my shower for almost 2 weeks. After multiples calls to management, only to be informed “they are working on it;” all in all, this entire problem took 6 weeks to rectify with my hot water finally restored in the kitchen last week. The staff was always friendly, but friendly only goes so far when basic things like hot water and washing clothes are not available to you for extended periods of time and no retribution is offered for an excessive inconvenience like the ones I encountered. ...read more

My wife and I lived here for 3 years. We USED to love and praise it. Even recommended it to someone once. But after it was taken over by new management last year, it really went downhill. We were glad to escape recently. Oak Park is no longer a good place to live. The main problem for us was roaches. They have infested several of the buildings in the complex. We kept a clean home, but roaches invaded through the walls, ducts, carpet, and other places, and there's no way to keep them at bay. We were killing on average 10-20 per day for four months before we moved out. The management sent maintenance to spray 3 times, and we fumigated 3 other times. We also used foam sealant to patch up under the cabinets and any other cracks we could find. But in the end, the roaches won and we gave up and left.
