CAC to bring unseenamerica to Bayles Elementary

The Creative Arts Center of Dallas, a 43-year-old visual arts school and community art center located 4 miles east of downtown Dallas, is working with 4 and 5th graders and their families at nearby Bayles Elementary to teach photography skills and create an exhibition of photos of their lives away from school. The 10-week project, unseenamerica, will be taught by two photojournalists, Michael Blackwell and Jessie Pollak, with the help of a writer from the Writer's Garret. Unseenamerica, is a national project of Bread & Roses Cultural Project, Inc. which has documented the lives of thousands of unseen Americans though photography and cultural expression. The Dallas program is funded by the George and Fay Young Foundation. ...read more
