I always wanted to buy a double action switchblade and was somehow wary of buying it from random sellers. That is when my friends suggested Tacknives. They are a licensed online seller of OTF knives. I browsed through the website and loved their collection. The medium size Double action OTF MD3 got delivered to me within just a few business days, and I am super happy with the product. ...read more

Consolidated Communications

Don't get sucked in by their promise of 6mbps download speed and unlimited data. Yes it is enough for netflix, but far too often the speeds are not up to par. Most people don't check on a regular basis. I would see my speed periodically drop below 4meg and sometimes below 3. I let it slide because of the unlimited data and my really only other option was Hughes net which is very expensive. They will not keep their promise. Within the last month, I have had intermittent to no service to very slow service for 2 weeks going on 3 weeks. I called and they had no answers and said they like to close their trouble tickets within 72 hours. Well, still no resolution. A tech called at 4:30 on Jan 1st, just left his name and said he wanted to work on my internet. Never left a call back number. I am an independent contractor and rely heavily on internet access. I have had to disconnect their modem and use a MIFI from Verizon. So I decided that I want to cancel my service and went to the live chat and they wanted me to call the tech people.lol... what a joke. I repeated I wanted to cancel. They then said I have to call billing and they aren't open till Monday... I guess Consolidated Communication Chat is only if you want to start service or have general questions... What a poorly operated company. I will say customer support is absolutely terrible, response time is terrible, and overall communication with customers is terrible. ...read more

Trash to Treasure and the Art of collecting

Well the saying is true!  One man's trash is another man's treasure.  As you can imagine with doing our job of holdeing Estate Sales, Moving Sales & Online Auctions we see it all...junk to jewels.  With every sale we have held for our clients they are amazed at the return (money) they get in the end.  So many times people just don't relize what they have to be worth anything.  The flip side is so many times people believe their collections are worth a pretty penny...and to many times then not are disapointed to find the worth is only to them. Trash to Treasure story:  When we enter a sale location one of the first things we do is start research the items.  We go through many sources to find a fair market value on many of the items to be included in a sale.  One sale the owner's wife showed us a pile of stuff he had gathered to throw away...TRASH.  We told him to leave it and we would take care of it.  We wanted to confirm nothing of value was in the pile.   Now for the TREASURE part....you guest it a jewel was reveled. We researched a small vase made of pottery marked Van Briggle.  This was no ordinary piece it was one of the first pieces and by a very special artist within the company. The value was showned to be approx. $1500 ...however when auctioned it brought $3950.00.  Why so much more then the approx value.  The artist family wanted it as well as the Van Briggle collectors market.  The moral is let  the professional handle it.  We have MANY resources available to us to know who, what, why and where to sell to get you the highest return possible.....it's what we do. Art of collecting:  In today's market the world is your shopping place.  You can buy from all over the world with the click of a button.  Great....right?  Wrong for the investment collector and right for the enjoying collector.  Having the internet has driven down prices on everything these days.  In turn your collectibles are not worth as much. The collections your parents started and saved for you as part of an investment in your future show a bleek future.   Book value is out the window.  These number were based on supply and demand.  With the supply so great the demand is not there.  However, for the enjoying collector there is no end to you collection capibilities.  As long as you know the worth is like a car once you drive it off the lot the value can go down.  Keep in mind there are exceptions to these rules and always buyers from around the world to buy that you did not have the option with before.Moral is buy what you like and enjoy it and if wealth follows....bonus!!  If you have questions or items you wish to seek our help with contact us through. www.1stChoiceEstateSales.com  or emailestate.sales@hotmail.com ...read more
