If you are considering attending Aveda, DON'T. They are ridiculously expensive and will get any money out of you that is possible. I left Aveda 01/09 and in 10/11, they started asking me for money. There excuse was, "We had bad book keeping at the time so this is your responsibility." It has been an ongoing battles until now. The BBB had to get involved, previous students had to get involved... a COMPLETE mess. The services are not bad. Just remember the person cutting your hair might not have cut anyone else's hair before. We practiced on manicans. Not real people. Crystal is the director there now and she is very unhelpful and kind of stuck up. You are the Director at Aveda. Woo Hoo.... Anyone , and I mean anyone, could get that job. i went there thinking i was going to save money on a manicure/ pedicure, man was i wrong! at nails of america, an actual business not a school, it was total 40 for a mani/ pedi and its the same price there! This wouldn't have bothered me if they actually did a good job, but it was the worst experience ever. I was literally cringing the whole time. First, there color selection is VERY LOW! I would say only about 20 different color, except they're ugly (like metallic blue or green, not a pretty nail polish that i fell i love with, so if you really want to go here bring your own!!!!) Then she filed my nails like a saw going back and forth instead of one direction, which can seriously damage you nails. When she started painting my nails she didn't even start remotely close to the end of my nail so now half of my nail is painted and half isn't.
