Efficiency: The efficiency or rather inefficiency of your irrigation system can save or cost you money. As we all know the cost of water has risen approximately 30% in the past 2 yrs state wide. It is one of our most precious natural resources. It is the obligation of everyone to conserve and protect our water supplies. Excessive watering and inefficient sprinkler systems account for approximately 20 to 30 percent of water waste. A fine tuned and properly set controller can not only deliver enough water (without waste) to your yard but it can save you money on your water bill. Your sprinkler system is like any other functioning piece of equipment. It requires maintenance on a reqular basis. Just like the car you drive, it could use preventative maintenance. It does not have to have it to operate, but it does need it to operate efficiently. Just like your car needs regular oil changes and tune ups. Otherwise your gas mileage goes down and the wear on your engine goes up. Requiring costly repairs and possible replacement depending on the amount of damage incurred. The same holds true with your sprinkler system if you think about it. I urge you to take a close look at what your water bill is now compared to this time last year or two years ago. Then look at your sprinkler system and see if you notice a lot of run off or excessive wet or dry areas in your lawn. The direction of the spray in relation to the area that is being watered.
